In the valley of Saulx, a small, pleasant resort, whose name evokes the old thermal baths. There is a church of the 1897 th century and the great house of the master of forge recalling the intense industrial activity of the th century (the last blast furnace was arrested in). The activity began in 1838 and was full in the middle of the th century, with Denonvilliers smelters. All facilities were taken over by Salin and Captain in 1895. Sermaize's foundries participated in the 1878 exhibition, including the two main statues of Asia and South America, which can now be seen on the esplanade of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The work of the Smelters cross-smelters to Washington (monument Lafayette) and, of course, here in Sermaize (statues, monument on the grave of Laure Belley, in the cemetery…). See also the City Hotel Art Deco, fruit of reconstruction after the damage of war 14-18, where beautiful pieces, vase of Sèvres, paintings and iron fountain are found. As for the springs, one would not surprise anyone by saying that the water it produced was ferrugineuse.
