We went inside the cellars learning about the regions and various terroir of their champagnes. We learnt about different storage used historically, the making process, and different sizes of the bottles.
Inside we saw their gallery where people work on the disgorgement process.
There is also a museum inside the cellars and we learnt about their champagne that can be taken into space!
We finished our tour with tasting of two compte champagnes back in the champagne house.
It was a very special and unique experience.

Le lieu est vraiment authentique et la visite est très intéressante. Notre guide, nous a permis de découvrir beaucoup de choses sur l'histoire de la région du champagne, de son terroir et sur le processus de conception du champagne.
La visite se termine par la dégustation de l'un de leur champagne dans un cadre sobre et élégant.
The tour is the same, regardless of which “level” of package you choose, the difference is in the champagnes you get to taste at the end. Our tour guide was hospitable, knowledgeable with a good sense of humour, happy to answer questions from the group.
You start the tour in a grand building, before going underground to the cellars.
The guide was very informative, taking you through both the history of G.H. Mumm, the champagne making process and how it has evolved over time, whilst you are walking through the cellars and seeing it for yourself.
Personally I really enjoyed seeing all the machinery and innovations that Mumm has invested in over the years at the end of our walk through the tunnels.
We had booked the Grand Cru experience, purely because we booked late and all the cheaper packages were sold out. But we were glad we did, since we got to taste a selection of the reserved vintage champagnes after our tour, which were fabulous. All in all I’d highly recommend a visit to G.H. Mumm.

Point négatif de la visite, on n’a pas accès à la partie production (mise en bouteille), mais bon on vend du reve on n’est pas là pour visiter une usine de prod.
Notre guide était souriante, très professionnelle, très agréable à écouter , les explications étaient claires et elle répondait fort bien aux différentes questions. Merci à elle donc. La visite rend hommage au champagne dans toute sa splendeur avec des bouteilles ( RSRV) qui font rêver bien sûr et que l'on a pu goûter et apprécier.
Les caves sont belles et font revivre l'histoire de ce lieu, notamment à travers le musée, de belles pièces effectivement, oui vraiment un endroit merveilleux, différent des autres caves. Un Grand Merci donc.
Unexpected to learn of all the caves just below this area of town. The process of how champagne was produced was explained in detail, and we were shown some of the items used in the production process. We did the least expensive tour offered and it was the same for everyone. The only difference was what you sampled at the end. The tastings were full sized glasses, which was nice that it wasn't just a small sample, but we only tasted one. Perhaps they should add an option for more samples, but small quantities.
