Museum featuring a permanent exhibition tracing the end of through 15 display cases.

Created in 2005 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Victory in World War Two, the museum is housed in the former headquarters of Eisenhower, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces in Europe. This high place of memory was the scene of an event that marked history forever, on Monday, May 7, 1945 at 2:41 a.m.: the signing of the surrender of the armies of the Third Reich, thus putting an end to the Second World War. The permanent exhibition retraces the course of the end of the war through some fifteen window displays, period mannequins, models and newspapers from May 1945.

Daily from 10am to 6pm. Except Tuesdays, January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25. Free admission for children under 18 (and students on presentation of card), under-18s, Maisons de quartier de Reims groups, disabled persons, Mission Locale young people, jobseekers, RSA recipients. Free admission on May 8). Adults: €5.50. Children (aged 18 to 25): €3.30 (and over 65). Group (20 people): €3.30. Inter-museum pass: €21. Free admission for veterans (Reddition and Fort de la Pompelle museums only) and reduced admission for members of the Friends of Reims Museums Association. Guided tour (€4 in addition to admission).

Fantastic museum with so much history right there. There is a 15 minute video that you watch beforehand and typically I’m not a fan of those but it was well produced and truly enhanced your knowledge as you go through the museum. The artifacts collected and newspaper articles were well preserved. Being able to enter the room where the capitulation of Germany was signed (with actual pictures) was surreal. We spent about 45-60 minutes here. Well worth the visit.
