Located below the dike of the Der-Chantecoq lake which extends over 4800 hectares, Giffaumont-Champaubert is the heart of many tourist activities. In addition to its nautical base which attracts a good number of vacationers, the village is particularly appreciated by fishermen and ornithologists. Indeed, the area hosts a rich population of birds, of very varied species, the most famous being the grey crane, of which up to 140 000 specimens stop over at the Lac du Der during the migration period from mid-October to mid-March. A visit to the panoramic water tower will allow you to take a little height to admire the view on the lake and its country
