Located in the heart of the Vitry hillsides, Bassuet is a small village of about 250 inhabitants located 10 km north-east of Vitry-le-François. Essentially a winegrower, this charming village has a vineyard of nearly 90 hectares where Chardonnay is king. While walking in Bassuet, you will be able to admire authentic half-timbered Champagne houses and follow the banks of the Fion, its river. Do not be mistaken, this name comes from the Latin word Flumen which means river. The Fion is 21 km long and has its source in Bassu, crosses Bassuet before flowing into the Marne in the region of Chaussée-sur-Marne
