Lodging in a magnificent estate with swimming pool, terrace BBQ and superb view of La Roque Saint-Christophe.

Originally from the Netherlands, Jens and Annet fell in love with the Dordogne and in 2021 opened a magnificent estate overlooking the famous and superb Roque Saint-Christophe. Ideally located, this charming place allows you to explore the Vézère valley in comfort. A shared swimming pool, terrace BBQ, wood-burning stove and other facilities add a special touch to your stay. The hosts are particularly committed to their guests' well-being, and are happy to offer advice on what to do in the area.

Good for holidays

We stayed with Jens and Annet three years ago (in 2021) when we were expecting our first child. It was the perfect pre baby holiday and now that we have two kids we think about our last trip to France on a monthly basis. The gîte was very comfortable and we used the wood stove every night (it was late October) for that extra cozy vibe.

Jens is a good climber and guide and showed us a beautiful crag where I could climb for the first time in many years. The surrounding area is stunning in autumn and we enjoyed visiting the lovely villages and towns in the area. Just by stepping out the front door I was able to run a couple of really nice trails around the gÎte with some nice climbing and fast descents and even small streams to cross. These trails are also great for regular hiking.

Last but not least, this area is an archeological treasure. Jens and Annet provided us with a shortlist of places and sites to visit. Lascaux was the obvious choice and really worth it, but the cave that we actually enjoyed more was a smaller one in the area where you could visit the original cave instead of a reproduction like Lascaux.

We hope to return here!
