Bar-brasserie in Périgueux serving creative cuisine, a menu of meats, fish and a Perigord hamburger.
Elisabeth and Sébastien Leprince left the Nantes region, where they already had a bar and brasserie, to take over this already top-notch establishment, and they were keen to keep the chef who had created a creative cuisine. We have lunch in three courses, always well paced and nicely presented: a scallop sabayon, then rabbit stew and red fruit aspic. A la carte, Provencal-style cod with vegetables followed by crème brûlée with bourbon vanilla, or a wide choice of mixed salads, meat, fish, Perigord burger with pan-fried foie gras and crispy home-made fries. The place is very pleasant, with its vaulted cellar of old stones. The wide opening and the terrace for smokers invite you to take a coffee break. If the name and the patterns have changed, the formula that has largely proved itself remains the same.
Cuisine traditionnelle excellente.
