CHÂTEAU DE MARCQ
Built in 1760 by Nicolas Deruë, Lord of Marcq and master of the Champigneulle forges, Château de Marcq, known as Château Mercier, is an 18th century bourgeois house in classical style. Between 2009 and May 2011, the building was restored, with the technical support of the architect of the French buildings: the masonry and facade openings were restored, the white Jeaumont stone steps and stairs restored, the oak doors replaced and the portal recreated identically, to restore this magnificent building to its former glory and splendour.
