La Fortress of Miremont is a XIIth century castrum, registered in the ISMH (Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments) since 1971. Open to the public, a guided and commented tour of the fortress, lasting about 1 hour, retraces the history and architecture of the 12th century feudal castle up to the modifications of the 20th century. Miremont follows in the footsteps of the great military castles of the Middle Ages, with its first protective wall, its 12th century Romanesque keep with flat buttresses, redesigned during the Renaissance.
