Le Buisson station is located on the line coming from Périgueux via Niversac to Agen. It is also on the line coming from Bordeaux via Libourne and Bergerac to the terminus of Sarlat.

It was built in 1863 by the Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans (PO). It is a passenger station of the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine network, served by regional express trains. 45 minutes are needed between Le Buisson and Périgueux with two stops, one at Le Bugue, the other at Eyzies-de-Tayac Sireuil. It takes 30 minutes between Sarlat and Le Buisson.
