LOWER RIVER MANOR
This manor house is one of the largest troglodytic properties in Indre-et-Loire, carved out of the rock in the century
At the heart of the Manoir des Basses Rivières, classified as a remarkable garden, a harmony between nature and stone is revealed. The site combines tufa stone with the meticulous lines of a formal garden. There's a star-shaped yew garden, a terrace and chapel surrounded by boxwood and nepeta, and a 12th-century troglodytic staircase leading to a forest with panoramic views. Further down, a garden frames a pond, punctuated by sculpted boxwood and Mediterranean cypress trees.
