In the 16th century, with its many waterways, Touraine was the ideal place to set up a tannery. Since 1985, the museum has been evoking the days when Château-Renault was known as the "City of Leather". In the 19th century, there were some twenty tanneries in the area. We retrace the entire leather-making process, using tools and machines from the era as witnesses. Learn about the techniques involved by joining one of the workshops, open to children and adults alike.
