With its 130 steps, the panoramic tower of Moncalou, erected in 2008 next to the wine cellar of Domme, offers a breathtaking 360° view. To the north, the valleys of the Céou and the Dordogne, to the east the rising hills of the Lot, to the south the seductive but arid causses of Quercy, these limestone plateaus with their traditional dry-stone dwellings and their villages that have remained authentic. No longer quite in Périgord Noir, but not yet in Quercy, the Tower has taken its place in a frontier region, formerly devoted to wine growing and sheep breeding.
