LIBRAIRIE MEURA
The Meura library is a real institution in Lille. This specialized library in social sciences has existed since 1980, but its history dates back to 1946! By buying in 2009, Lilya Aït Menguellet retained values and quality, while adding his personal touch, made of relevant and daring choices, and especially from great openness to the other. In 2015, at the 3rd National Meetings of the Bookshop, this is how Lilya Aït Menguellet described his bookstore to the question "how do you see it in 5 years? ": " renovated, attractive, innovative and welcoming ". It has been only two years but we can already say that the bet is successful! After almost two months of work, the bookstore reopened its doors in August 2017 to welcome readers in a redesigned space to better satisfy them! The old reserve has been converted into a space that can host literary encounters or simply allow visitors to browse the books in a chair! In the heart of the library, there are of course libraries full of thousands of references, even though the library has chosen to reduce its catalogue a bit in order to offer a rigorous but more open selection to the general public. It is true that so far the public at the bookstore was very academic. Next to the works of philosophy, history, sociology or geography, books on art, sustainable development, architecture or even psychology will also be found. All themes are discussed and if you need a board, please do not hesitate to ask the two booksellers who will be happy to guide you through this amazing, varied and very high quality offer. The Meura Bookshop has not waited 5 years to be renovated, attractive and welcoming! An indispensable address.
