Northern cuisine with good value for money in an estaminet in Lille.
Situated on the famous Place aux Oignons, where you can admire the remains of cannonballs in the facades of the houses, this restaurant is a must to discover the gastronomy of the region. Here, you'll feel like you're at "grandma's", with the walls decorated with trinkets, old posters, enamel plates. On the menu, traditional dishes, from potjevleesch made at a local caterer to chicken with maroilles, to mousse with speculoos. Final touch: old-fashioned coffee served in an old-fashioned coffee pot with a hint of chicory.

Delicious and authentic food served in a delightfully quaint decor by equally delightful people. I recommend making a reservation if you can, this place fills up quickly. Their Flemish Stew is among my favourites, served with a generous portion of fries! The Maroilles Chicken is certainly *very* cheesy, but not overwhelmingly so, though it's a good thing it also comes with its own portion of fries to balance it all.

Excellente expérience dans cet estaminet, les plats sont originaux, copieux et bien cuisinés. On mange bien à prix abordable et le serveur est aux petits soins avec ses clients.
Le restaurant s'est vite rempli, heureusement que nous avons réservé, il y a peu de place. Les tables sont rapprochées et la salle est petite, ça crée une ambiance conviviale.
Nous avons passé un bon moment, si nous étions du coin nous serions revenus.
