ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA LIBÉRATION

April 25 is a public holiday in Italy, commemorating the anniversary of the Liberation of the country in 1945, the end of the Nazi occupation and the fall of the Fascist regime. This date was chosen in memory of April 25, 1945, the day when the National Liberation Committee proclaimed the insurrection in all the territories still occupied by the fascists. Every April 25, marches are organized in the major Italian cities in memory of this event.
