On the beach, here is a family establishment with rather basic comfort with eleven well arranged, functional bungalows, some of which have a private terrace with hammock and armchairs. All of them have a view on the sea. The restaurant serves Filipino and German cuisine. In the evening, guests can meet at the bar area to have a drink, enjoy the sunset (often beautiful on Sugar Beach) and why not play a game of pool or darts. Friendly staff and good value for money.

Very comfortable and well-appointed rooms for this hotel which offers a large swimming pool to its guests to compensate for a small access to the beach. We feel on holiday, and that's the goal!

One of the cheapest establishments in Boracay. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and especially very clean (with original decoration). The hotel is located on the beach and a kite school is adjacent.

Located just a few minutes' walk from White Beach and with direct access to the beach, this beautiful 4-star establishment stands out above all for its rooms and luxurious villas (ranging in size from 40 to 164 m²), all of which have a private patio or terrace, with a view directly out to sea and/or the large infinity pool. This major advantage in layout helps create a cozy nest of tranquility and privacy suitable for both couples and families, thanks to the two- and three-bedroom villas.

On the boulevard of Mactan Newtown, that strange futuristic district in perpetual development, the Savoy Hotel is a 4-star establishment whose services are in line with what you'd expect from an establishment of this standing. Everything is brand new, the 500 rooms are modern, the bedding comfortable, the staff efficient and professional. There's a rooftop swimming pool, a café and a restaurant offering buffets, an à la carte menu and room service. The cuisine is of the highest quality.

A youth hostel with a resolutely contemporary look. The architecture and design are reminiscent of New York lofts: exposed brick walls, yellow light bulbs, black finishings, a very original industrial style that gives it cachet. The common showers are clean, it is quite quiet, the patio and the small garden are very pleasant, and there is a restaurant-bar adjoining. The staff can help you organize your activities in the area. A very good value for money for this hostel quite unique in the Philippines.

Located next to the Silliman University campus and therefore not far from the center and the waterfront, while being sheltered from the noise, the Coco Grande is recognizable between thousand with its red brick facade and its electric blue awnings. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the decoration is quite modern and warm. The staff is very friendly and it is possible to organize all your excursions in the surroundings directly with them. A nice address with a very good quality-price ratio.

Located in Dauin by the sea, this hostel offers double rooms with a view of the beach and dormitories of four in absolutely adorable bamboo bungalows. Everything is new, clean and charming. The shared bathrooms are very well maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel at home. The food is excellent. Ideal if you want to pass your PADI or simply dive, the equipment is of good quality and the instructors very professional. A no-fail for this hostel!

The restaurant is accessible to all and offers classic but good Filipino and Western cuisine in a superb setting. The rooms, some with terrace and sea view, are basic but quite comfortable and clean. The owner is known for her sympathy. There is a swimming pool but especially the beach with some deckchairs and hammocks. The place is an invitation to relax. Bathing in the calm and warm water is a pure delight.

Located a 15-minute drive from San Juan, Hola Beach is a true haven of peace. Three bamboo and rattan villas face the sea directly, while five teepee-shaped cabins are located in a pretty, quiet garden. Regine and the staff are very welcoming. The teepees are basic but you sleep well (don't forget to turn on the small fan), the common bathrooms are very clean and the place is peaceful. We recommend it for those who are looking for a change of scenery and calm. In the evening, the sunset on the beach is sublime.

Inaugurated in early 2023, this hotel offers excellent value for money and a high quality standard, 200 meters from the sea. We appreciate its planted facade, its rooftop bar and the attentive staff. The rooms are very beautiful, the choice of materials is a success, walls in waxed concrete, cork supplies, bedding worthy of the greatest hotels and the perfume which intoxicates the rooms is the small added touch to the general quality. At the time of our visit at the end of March 2023, a magnificent swimming pool was under construction. Really, we recommend it.

On the banks of the Loboc River, perched in the trees, a superb bamboo native house is completely open, where you sleep (very well) on a mattress on the ground facing nature... What a pleasure to wake up to the sound of birds, trees and the river. A Franco-Filipino couple opened this lodge and we think it's a great success: the employees are full of joy, the restaurant (delicious) is also a meeting place and the firefly and paddle outing on the river is a must. An unusual accommodation for nature lovers!

This is Camotes' n°1 hotel (especially for its heavenly setting). Rooms are basic but comfortable, and some have sea views. The staff are very attentive. And the restaurant is open to all, offering Filipino and Western cuisine. Nothing fancy, but the dishes are good (the sizzling gambas, for example), albeit a little more expensive than elsewhere. We come here above all to enjoy the setting and the superb view over Santiago White Beach.

Just a 10-minute walk from Santiago beach, this is a youth hostel just like the others. Double rooms in traditional nippa huts, clean and decent dormitories and functional sanitary facilities. What we really appreciate is the atmosphere: the two hosts, Rein and Marcel, are unfailingly friendly, and during the day, the few travellers gather under the restaurant's patio (very good, by the way) to chat and play with them.

The luxurious Mövenpick Resort Boracay opened its doors in 2017. In the northwest of the island of Boracay, on Punta Bunga beach, known for its fine white sand and turquoise waters, the hotel boasts a huge swimming pool with abar and lounge areas all around, ideal for admiring the sunset. Far from the hustle and bustle of White Beach, the 312 rooms and suites and the superb beach villa (with private infinity pool) are decorated with care and comfort in mind!

We can't talk about Pedro's Resort (formerly Roberto's) without introducing its charming owners Melissa and Roberto. From Quebec, they settled in Bohol with the intention of taking the local rhythm and built this charming little resort, with rooms articulated around a pretty garden. Simple and clean, they all have a small terrace. In the morning you can have breakfast under the patio planted in the middle of the garden, and in the evening you can have a drink at the bar. A simple but nice address away from the bustle of Alona Beach.

We fell in love with this address held by a French-Filipino couple. Located in front of the sea, this charming guesthouse will enchant all travelers. The five wooden bungalows, delicately decorated with Asian objects, and with soft beds, invite to laziness and idleness. Sofas are installed in the garden to enjoy the sunsets. And walks down to the ocean for snorkeling and turtle watching. Fine cuisine is served on site. Scooters are available. The U.Story is getting a makeover in 2023... we can't wait.

A little off the beaten track, this is one of Tagbilaran's most recent and chic hotels. This large, sleek white contemporary building overlooking the sea sets the tone. This boutique hotel offers comfortable, high quality accommodation, brightly lit thanks to the large bay windows offering superb sea views. You can also enjoy the view from the pool and terrace. It's just a shame that the rooms aren't better soundproofed, and that staff and service aren't always up to the high standards we've come to expect.

A nice address for those who want to enjoy the beach at reasonable prices. The simple but spacious wooden bungalows are cute and well maintained. Some have a kitchenette and others are outright little bamboo huts perched high up. The best part? Without a doubt, the small swimming pool that sits among the palm trees and the location on the beach. Kayaks at disposal, as well as restaurant and bar. It is pleasant to have a drink and to dine on the spot, especially at the time of the sunset.

Christi and Gary, your hosts, welcome you as friends to their hotel located in the highlands of the island, 15 minutes from the ports of Larena and Siquijor. The bungalows have panoramic views of the lush vegetation and the ocean. With an infinity pool, guided tours, a restaurant and a bar, there's plenty to keep you busy. The rooms are comfortable and restful. The owners have also opened the Infinity Sands Resort in San Juan and you have access to the facilities of both. A great place to get away from it all.

A beautiful seafront hotel with three sections: the "Amuma" section with Spa area at the entrance to the resort, the "Premium" section near the restaurant and the "Bungalow" section on the beach. In addition to the spa, you'll find pools, a gym and a range of sporting activities (volleyball, canoeing, kayaking and fishing), three restaurants and two bars. Spacious, air-conditioned rooms include a private terrace.

Undoubtedly the best value in town, the Ati-Atihan is a marvellous little youth hostel with beautiful rooms (small, admittedly, but for the price...) that are perfectly adequate, clean and functional, and very welcoming and accommodating staff. It's also conveniently located in the center, close to all amenities, the market and restaurants. Breakfast is also available on site.

Located at one scooter acceleration from Alona Beach (towards Danao), Hope Homes is an excellent solution for budget travelers who wish to enjoy the island and its surroundings in a relaxed way. In the heart of a garden, a dozen nipa bungalows are installed around a patio that serves as a restaurant-bar. The comfort is basic but the whole is well kept and the atmosphere is very good and the staff is very attentive. It is a little bit out of the way but the use of the motorcycle (included in the price) makes up for it.

Hotel Alejandro was built in the early 1930s. This magnificent pre-war white house was for many years the home of the illustrious Dr. Montejo family and witness to a turbulent history, particularly during the war when the mansion was used to house survivors. Today, the hotel has retained its original charm. This charm is enhanced by the presence of a beautiful swimming pool on the roof of the new wing. We like the slightly old-fashioned atmosphere, combined with the comfort and warm welcome. An address with cachet.

This hotel, opened in 2021, is ideally located 300 meters from the Tubod Marine Sanctuary. And we feel like saying: finally a hotel of European standing at a not too exorbitant price. The swimming pool is huge, the two beaches and the view on the ocean are simply sublime, the rooms are big, the bungalows with view on the swimming pool and the sea have each their own small terrace. The restaurant offers a varied menu (pasta, fish, meat) and is very correct. The staff is available and efficient. A sure value for those who need comfort.

Located a little away from the hustle and bustle, just a few minutes' walk from White Beach and a fifteen-minute walk from the nerve center with all its restaurants and bars, Kommons is a fairly small youth hostel. The rooms, dormitories and sanitary facilities are new, clean (cleaned daily) and well thought-out, with individual curtains in the dormitories. The friendly staff deliver top-quality service (welcome juice, towels provided...) with a smile. A very good value address!

Nestled in a green setting, these magnificent bamboo huts with terrace and bathroom combine the charm of an atypical dwelling with comfort and practicality (hot water and air conditioning). Frank and Dani welcome you to their hidden paradise with hospitality. The restaurant offers Filipino and Western dishes of remarkable quality (and quantity!), all homemade and absolutely delicious. As an added bonus, sunset over Bakhaw Beach is just a few meters away. Excellent value for money. My favorite is Hidden Huts!

The island of Cabilao can be reached in 2 hours from Tagbilaran. A tiny island, Cabilao is home to 5,000 inhabitants who are unaccustomed to tourists and live very simply, especially after their island was hit by Typhoon Odette in 2021. This superb resort is ideal for divers wishing to explore the depths of the marine sanctuary that surrounds the island. The rooms are beautiful, the pool pleasant and the staff attentive. A paradise of tranquility, cut off from the world.

Opened in 2022, this hostel is conveniently located on the road to Paliton Beach and next to the Wonderland bar. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Tea and coffee are available for guests. The rooms (mixed or women's dormitories) are very spacious, we love the design which mixes waxed concrete and wooden furniture, there are big lockers for bags and each bed has its curtain. The common sanitary facilities are clean and functional. In short, a no-fault for this hostel!

Situated away from the hustle and bustle of Alona Beach, yet still close by, Bird of Paradise is a true slice of paradise. This intimate hotel features eight beautifully designed rooms with a contemporary yet warm decor. In the large garden, home to many species of tropical plants and birds of paradise, a large swimming pool sits proudly. Also on site are a restaurant and bar, as well as a reception area with friendly, dedicated staff to help you organize your visits to Bohol and Panglao.

A nice little resort, but quite off the beaten track; it's the ideal place to be quiet and relax. The complex is well laid out on the rocks, with a swimming pool, panoramic seafront bar, restaurant and pool table. There are daily activities on offer, and scooters can of course be hired to escape the languor from time to time. The garden is superb, the bungalows are well-kept but a little old-fashioned, and the rates are agreeable. We like it, even if it lacks a bit of beach.

This is.' s best value for money. The five bungalows are voluptuous in a lush tropical garden which guarantees optimal privacy. They are comfortable (private health with hot water, TV - cable for two of them, air conditioning), and we appreciate their small private terrace. The staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel with Genesis Divers offers charming bamboo and nipa units. Common health care is very well maintained. It's more expensive for non-divers. The place is really pleasant and like small budgets that like to buller… even to others elsewhere. 

It is one of the first resorts to be established on the island, in 1988. Its eight nippa cottages overlook the beautiful beach of Larena. The rooms are not the most modern, they are relatively simple and the comfort is rudimentary but the whole is rather well kept, in edge of sea. The setting is peaceful and authentic, we swim, we relax with a book, we go to meet the inhabitants, we stroll on the beach and we discover the island... In short, we enjoy.

This youth hostel is THE meeting place for backpackers in Cebu! If you're looking for a place with a young and often (very) festive atmosphere, you're in for a treat: a lively rooftop bar and swimming pool (unfortunately temporarily closed), communal areas decorated in an industrial style and a restaurant serving rather good food. The rooms and dormitories (mixed or for women) are simple but decent, and the staff are welcoming and dynamic. Perfect for meeting other travelers.
