For those on a budget, we offer dormitory rooms. Please note, however, that major restoration and construction work has been underway since the early 2020s. At the time of our visit, some 15 cottages were still to be restored and 22 units created.

When it comes to affordable hotels in Berkeley - and there aren't many of them - the Quinta Inn is a good address at a low price, offering appreciable comfort, interesting services and a refreshing outdoor pool in summer. From the outside, the building is not very attractive, and the furnishings are a little old-fashioned, but the rooms are well kept and spacious, and the staff pleasant. To make matters worse, the hotel is ideally located between the marina and UC Berkeley.

A roadside motel that offers enough comfort to stop off on the road to San Diego. Not the ultimate luxury, of course, but spacious rooms, well equipped (microwave, coffee, fridge), pleasant although a little old-fashioned. Located on the side of the road, so unfortunately we can hear a little traffic. Nice swimming pool. Be careful, however, in the middle of summer, prices rise and the price-quality ratio becomes questionable. The big plus: it's near the beach!

Nestled in a pretty yellow and white house, this bed and breakfast offers rooms and cottages with a romantic and flowery decor, all surrounded by a pretty garden held with a chalk line. The house belongs to a Frenchwoman who holds the place to perfection. The porch invites you to engage in endless conversations at nightfall, a glass of wine in your hand, and the whirlpool bath, installed in the most expensive cottages, to take a relaxing break in this small and unpretentious haven of peace. The most: the good French breakfast served in the garden!
