The BAR is a strange place, which is at the same time a pizzeria (known for its pizzas with very fine dough), a concert hall and a nightclub. Opened in 1995, in place of a former car showroom, the BAR has now become a must for New Haven nights. The complex houses several spaces, each with its own ambience. You'll go to the Lounge for an intimate evening with friends, to the Brü Room for pizza and a beer brewed on site, and to the Back Room to dance the night away.

The Yale Theatre, founded by the former Dean of the University's School of Drama, strives to bring together the great classics and modern creations, often staged to a high standard. The school's talented students rub shoulders with theatre professionals. It is located on the university campus, in a beautiful building erected in 1846. It is a former Baptist church in neo-gothic style, which was converted into a theatre in 1966.

A centre for theatrical creation, which presents a high level of programming all year round. It has been an institution of the city since 1965, where light comedies as well as classical plays are performed. The Long Wharf Theatre is known in the community as the place where a multitude of original plays are created. Several dozen of them have been performed on Broadway, some of which have even won a Pulitzer Prize. Its stage has seen some of the biggest names, from Mary McDonnell to Sam Waterson, not forgetting Al Pacino.

Musicals and dance ballets are performed in this historic venue that has been part of the New Haven cultural scene since 1914. Among the great names who have walked the stage of this theater are Marlon Brando and Liza Minnelli. The beautiful, opulently decorated theatre seats up to 1,600 people and is equipped with comfortable red velvet armchairs, dressing rooms and balconies on three floors.
