This café-pâtisserie is an institution founded by Michalis Tsivrinis (the other name of the place), a refugee from Smyrna, in the 1950s. After him, his son and then his apprentice continued to make typical pastries from Asia Minor and Kos, according to the rules of the art. In the morning, you will see the locals stop for coffee and a bougatsa filled with cream and sprinkled with cinnamon or honey: a breakfast ritual that we advise you to follow religiously. Not to mention the almond baklava, a must.

Admittedly, this "milk cake" made with phyllo pastry sheets and custard is not exclusive to the culinary traditions of Kalymnos, but the Kalymniotes have their own traditional recipe. This is the place to try it. It is often accompanied by a scoop of ice cream and drizzled with syrup or honey. You can also try the excellent baklava prepared on site.

You will find this Italian glacier on the main road leading to Hochlaka beach, next to the Trehantiri tavern. The young, dynamic team uses organic products, especially milk, and seasonal fruit whenever possible: the flavors change regularly. Located behind the Diagoras Stadium in the new city, this glacier has been an institution since its foundation by Ibrahim Sarri Hasan in the 1970s. This farmer first became known for his milk after the civil war, before inventing his first ice cream recipe. Quickly, he developed his know-how and flavours and opened this shop in 1974. Since then, her grandchildren have been running the company, but people still come here to enjoy creamy ice cream. The vanilla fragrance, certainly the simplest, is also the most famous.
