DOWNHILL BEACHHOUSE

Hotel
5/5
1 review

Overlooking Downhill Beach and Magilligan, halfway up the cliffs, this inn is an excellent place, although out of the way since you can't buy groceries at Downhill, to enjoy the beach (on which some scenes of the very popular Game of Thrones series were filmed) and to visit the area. This restored Victorian house is comfortable with a fireplace, kitchen, laundry room... An extensive garden overlooks a small stream and the sea can be seen in the distance. A pottery workshop offers initiations, assembly and decoration.

With an excellent location just a stone's throw from City Hall, this simple and well-equipped Travelodge is an interesting option in Belfast. The hotel overlooks a quiet square, just behind the famous Crown Liquor Bar. The 90 rooms are spacious and quite pleasant. The first floor café serves breakfast in the morning and turns into an informal bar where you can have a drink in the evening. A word of advice, book in advance for even better rates.

The City Hotel is a conveniently located hotel, opposite the River Foyle and a three-minute walk from the city walls. It has the advantage of offering views of both the hinterland and the city. The pleasant rooms are modern, in a rather refined Art Deco style. A swimming pool and gym are also available to residents. Breakfast is an all-you-can-eat buffet, which is taken in the restaurant's large room, and is always of good quality. A good place to stay for a stopover in Derry

TEN SQUARE HOTEL

Hotel €€€

A 180-year-old post office relay, this beautiful building was converted into a hotel in 2001. The building is classified as a historical monument and the subtle charm of the architectural details is palpable in the rooms: volumes, taps, windows... The zen and refined atmosphere is very pleasant and blends perfectly with the intimate atmosphere. Personalities such as Bono, Moby, Duran Duran, or Shirley Mclaine are not mistaken, nor are the actors filming on Belfast who stay there. Each room is different and offers a beautiful view.
