A dynamic and professional team of climbing instructors offers many outdoor activities: via ferrata, climbing, adventure course. Since 1994, the H2o Sport Landry Center has distinguished itself as the preferred choice for outdoor activities in Savoie, benefiting from recognized expertise in whitewater and mountain sports. A company whose name is intertwined with the history of mountaineering, and above all the best address to find qualified and passionate guides. Because of overcrowding, ropes without certified professional guides become risky. Calling on these experienced guides is therefore a guarantee of safety. Some multi-day ski tours are for experienced skiers and the ascent of Mont Blanc cannot be improvised, a real physical and technical preparation is necessary. Hiking, climbing, snowboarding, heli-skiing, snowshoeing, tour of Mont Blanc, many packages are offered, for all levels, summer and winter: TMB (Tour du Mont-Blanc) in 5 days with an option to carry a bag; the mountains and wonders of the Aosta Valley in 6 days; more affordable, for families, the Chamonix Valley in five days; an introduction to mountaineering in three days, etc. With almost two centuries of history (it was created in 1821), the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc has become a true legend. The mountain house, which also houses the French Ski School and the Cham'Aventure company, offers a free information point, the Office de Haute Montagne. Three weather reports are posted here every day, just like at the neighboring tourist office: always highly recommended before any outing, on any terrain, even if it is considered easy. There's no need to pack your climbing gear and head for the mountains to reach the summits: Casamur is located right in the center of town. The climbing gym is open to beginners and advanced climbers alike, and offers a wide range of climbing walls and routes. The 500 sq. m. climbing gym allows beginners to discover the joys of climbing in a fun environment. The other part introduces you to different types of difficulty. This is where affiliated clubs, schools and associations train. In complete safety, young and old alike can take part in training courses or customized lessons with professionals. Explo, for exploration : sensations, landscapes, emotions, water, rocks... In a group, as a family (children from 7 years old), or individually, you have the choice of nature activities which will be supervised by professionals, in complete safety. On the menu: climbing in Casteljau, speleology in the numerous caves and cavities of the area, canyoning in the Chassezac, via corda in southern Ardèche, Explo course, canoeing and kayaking. The choice is varied and you are bound to find something you like and that suits you!

While the Ardèche is full of climbing sites in a variety of environments, few are as demanding as Coux, between Sainte-Eulalie and Sagnes-et-Goudoulet. Its 23 20-metre routes have been carved out of phonolite, a volcanic stone found only in the Ardèche, and used by the mountain's inhabitants to build their roofs. For beginners, the tourist office can provide you with the names of professionals who can accompany you. Don't hesitate to drop in and see them, as this is not a discipline that can be improvised.

In view of the success of the vias ferratas of Planfoy, the lovers of rock faces have created this vertical activity center in order to propose in the same place a wide range of activities for all publics. Thus, the vertical offer goes from the most assisted for the beginners to the free practice on more or less difficult walls. Two vias ferratas for children and adults, as well as more than 180 climbing routes (from 3a to 8a+). Do not hesitate to contact the guides and climbing instructors of the area to discover this vertical pole in complete safety.

From the villages of La Grave, Saint Christopher-Oisans and Venosc, there are many possibilities for via ferrata. If you choose to leave alone, you will find the route of routes in the various guides or at the guides office which organizes departures for via ferrata. It is therefore advisable to use their knowledge before engaging in unknown land.

The domaine de Savoie Grand Revard has equipped itself with a ferrata with two courses, one rather difficult, the other extremely difficult. With a 40 metre Himalaya bridge, wooden bridges and monkey bridges, vertige over Chambéry! Don't forget the complete equipment necessary for your safety!

For climbing enthusiasts or the simply curious, Châtel offers some remarkable routes! Two sites are available for free climbing: the walls of Plaine Dranse, comprising 23 routes of 5 to 10 meters, and the abseils of the L'Essert waterfall, offering a descent on the left bank with 9 abseils of 30 meters. Detailed guides are available from the tourist office. Under the guidance of qualified instructor Jean-Yves Fredriksen, all climbers are supervised and initiated. Initiation from age 8.

A high mountain guide, Grégory Coubat offers you ski, hiking, off-piste outings and mountaineering activities throughout Maurienne and beyond. At Norma, it invites you to start climbing ice climbing. With caps, reel, rope and crampons, you follow two by two the guide, which prepared you the ground. Formulas for experienced climbers are also possible.

The Rochers de la Miramande offer a sublime setting for Via Ferrata enthusiasts, with exceptional views over the Allier gorges. Between walking and climbing, three routes are available, two relatively accessible (the green and red) and one more difficult (the black). These routes, with their south-facing exposure, involve more climbing on rock than on rungs. Each route takes just under two hours. To reach the site, follow the signs after passing through Saint-Jean-Lachalm.

This climbing site is undoubtedly one of the most popular in the Haute-Loire, not least because of the diversity of its walls and its easy accessibility. After a 10-minute walk, you'll reach the site, which offers no fewer than 49 routes. A dedicated beginners' area is also available. The other routes are suitable for all climbing enthusiasts, the longest stretching for around 30 meters. From the summits, you can enjoy views of Mont Mézenc.

The journey rises along this volcanic fireplace, offering beautiful views over the surrounding landforms. Information panels help to understand the formation of these rocky peaks. The steep climb is rewarded by the view since the summit. Orientation tables will tell you the other summits to see. Once down, you can enjoy a swim in the lake of Bouchet, of volcanic origin as well. If you want to walk by foot, you need an extra 45 minutes.

The diversity of the Ardèche's terrain makes it a perfect destination for both beginners and experienced climbers, and many are starting up their own small businesses in this field, well aware of the region's potential. The Eyreux valley abounds with sites accessible to all: the Glueyre and Tournay sites, Les Cabannes in Saint-Maurice-en-Chalencon and Dunière-sur-Eyrieux. Another great climbing spot in the Ardèche, on the shores of Lake Issarlès. Three beautiful, shaded granite cliffs offer climbers almost thirty routes, from 6 to 35 meters high. If you're not a climber, you can also walk around the lake on a 5 km footpath. The picturesque name of this climbing spot comes from a local legend, telling the story of a shepherdess milking her goat on a rock when her village was submerged by the waters. You can even catch a glimpse of her face by plunging her head into the lake.
