Based on the model of the Edinburgh Fringe, the smaller version of Glasgow offers events around theatre and music. Each year, the festival takes place in 30 to 50 venues and offers 100 to 200 cultural, artistic and musical events: cabarets, comedies, concerts, performances, encounters... The festival is organized and managed by very dynamic and involved volunteers who take care of the eclecticism of the shows as well as the festive and friendly atmosphere. "Let's fill the streets with colour and love" is one of their leitmotivs.

It is known as one of the best jazz festivals in Scotland and takes place in the town of Kirkcudbright, which gives it an extra charm. Born from the initiative of passionate people, it quickly grew. The whole town participates and several jazz dinners are held in the town's restaurants. A good meal, an intimate concert: the formula was a great success! Added to this is a rich program of concerts and everyone finds something to enjoy. In 2023, it is its ^24th edition!

The Isle of Arran Folk Festival is organised in Brodick around ceilidhs and concerts. Its first editions date back more than half a century, before it was reborn in 1989 and took on a more official dimension. The original idea was to bring tourists to the island with a traditional quality programming. The festival was a huge success and has grown to become one of the most attractive events on the island. Free and paying concerts (passes are available) follow each other for three days.

The Dornoch Whisky Festival was founded in 2015 by whisky enthusiasts who had in mind what an ideal whisky exhibition should be, and offers a very wide range of whiskies, but above all a warm and friendly atmosphere. To the love of spirits is added the love of the land, heritage and traditions. Each malt has a history, has its own flavours... Each one tells its own legend: it is this magic that you will touch in this festival!

If you want to get a tattoo, now's your chance. The world's best tattoo artists meet in Edinburgh for the largest international tattoo convention. You will therefore see the most prominent artists of the moment, but also young talents who are already very promising. The convention is also a big market, with stands of jewellery, piercing and all sorts of clothing and hair accessories for unique looks. Shows are also organized.

Launched in 1996, this festival of traditional violin music brings together musicians and music lovers from all over the world. Inspiring, it promotes traditional music as much as it renews it. Throughout the weekend, concerts and recitals are organized with local, national and international artists. Each year, the festival welcomes prestigious guests in a program that is both cutting-edge and accessible to all. Everything takes place at The Pleasance, in a well-equipped space within the university grounds.

If you're in the area around August 10, make sure you stop by Campeltown to join this traditional and contemporary music festival! Concerts are of course organized, but there are also other events: the Ceilidh Festival, the Grand Parade, the Survivor's Night or the Dalriada Connections Concert on Sunday. Between official festival and off in the bars, you will find good music, an ultra friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome.

The Edinburgh International Science Festival is one of the largest science festivals in Europe. It explores science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Creative thinking and scientific thinking are explored, celebrated, valued... in nearly 270 events suitable for all audiences. It is an opportunity for family field trips, debates, lectures and hands-on activities in several locations around the city.

Welcome to the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival! Established in 1979, it is the largest rural performing arts festival in Scotland. It supports and hosts hundreds of artists who perform throughout the region, in dedicated and non-dedicated venues. The programme is very diverse: theatre, dance, puppet shows, comedy, traditional music... There is something for all tastes, all sensitivities and all ages, but always at a low price.

A day to discover whisky! Stands of the different distilleries of the country will be present, with the possibility of tastings, purchases and discoveries. Masterclasses and various events are organized. Shuttle buses run from Dumfries to the exhibition hall and an on-site cafeteria provides a snack between tasting dramas. 2020 will mark the tenth edition of a show which, little by little, has made its place in the calendar of whisky lovers
