Social landlord

Created by the General Council in 1950, Habitat 17 is currently chaired by Dominique Rabelle. It works with 80 the-maritime municipalities and has approximately 4 000 houses (including more than 1 000 pavilions, 450 student rooms and 2 500 apartments in 2012). The social lessor manages over 3 300 housing applications throughout the department and has an annual budget of EUR 65 million. This allows it to carry out new housing projects and to maintain existing buildings.

Pau Béarn Habitat is a semi-public company acting as a real estate operator in the Pau Béarn Pyrénées conurbation. It offers comprehensive real estate services as a developer and regional planner. With almost 9,000 homes and 150 employees, Pau Béarn Habitat is the main landlord for the Communauté d'Agglomération. Its aim is to implement the local housing policy determined by the local authorities.
