In the heart of the Maritime Quarter, this small, volunteer-run theater welcomes semi-professional troupes and offers a varied program. In fact, if you're thinking of moving to Swansea for a while, it's easy to join the team of volunteers and discover the world of theater. On average, 15,000 visitors a year come to see the shows. The program is available on their website; it's generally quite varied, with family shows, music and plays.

Swansea's most avant-garde stage, in the heart of the university's Singleton campus. Open since 1984, it has been offering a wide-ranging program for over thirty years, with some fifty different live performances a year. There's a choice of theater, dance, musical performances, cinema (art-house oriented but not exclusively) and an art gallery (with an average of ten exhibitions a year). This renowned theater opened in July 1897, designed by Newcastle architect William Hope. It has two stages: the larger one is reserved for light plays and regularly hosts the Welsh National Opera. The other, smaller stage can accommodate up to 100 people, and is a place for artists to express themselves on their own terms. On their website, you'll find the program for the autumn/winter or spring/summer season, depending on when you visit. There's plenty of variety, ideal for families.

Hay-on-Wye's oldest house, after the castle, housed a very popular bar, but was the victim of a fire in 2005. Now fully restored, the bar has been modernised while remaining true to its spirit: rustic dark wooden furniture, exposed beams, a fireplace and a spacious restaurant create a pleasant and warm atmosphere. A beer garden is reserved for smokers. The establishment is also known for its Italian gastronomic restaurant (with vegan and vegetarian choices). Good value for money.

The New Three Mariners is a great pub where it's nice to have a drink by the fire. And on weekends, the atmosphere is guaranteed! Many concerts are organized with very nice young local artists, as well as quizzes, karaoke... As well as the traditional match nights to support Welsh rugby teams! Their Facebook page is full of information about past and upcoming events. All this, always in a great atmosphere! Guess who the proud owner is? The English actor Neil Morrissey!

In a house with a yellow front, a pub with a friendly and original atmosphere and decoration, which specialises in Thai cuisine with a wide choice of curries and different dishes made with chicken, shrimps or pork. Traditional menu also available with burgers, beef and spinach lasagna, chicken risotto or vegetarian version with mushrooms... We also have chef's choices with salmon fillet and other variants served with fresh vegetables. The young and lively climate, very nice. It's a pretty good place to eat.

What an atmosphere in this pub, whether inside or on the terrace! In addition, we eat well, we find seafood and Caldey crab on the menu, the house's specialty. On their Facebook page The Buccaneer Inn you can easily find the current menu and programming. Very regularly, concerts are organised, sports matches are broadcast... In summer, the terrace is very nice and it's nice to enjoy it in the afternoon when it's sunny! In addition, a good choice of beers is available.

The Baytree awaits you in a very pretty setting, with a wooden décor and bouquets of dried flowers hanging from the walls... On the menu, a selection of meat, fish and classic or original vegetarian dishes... The menu often varies, but the classics are always on the menu, such as traditional burgers, or a selection of sandwiches and snacks. Desserts are beautiful and tasty, with gluten-free options. And when the weather's nice, you can enjoy a pleasant terrace. Bonus: frequent live music on Saturdays.

The Chapter Arts Centre is an arts center located in Canton, Cardiff, Wales. Opened in 1971, it offers a variety of shows and artistic events. The center has an auditorium and a café-bar. The center is run by Hannah Firth and Sharon Stone, with Rory Duckhouse as assistant to the directors. The programming team includes Hannah Firth as Artistic Director, Claire Vaughan as Head of Film Programming, Sim Panaser as Curator of Visual Art, Kit Edwards as Curator of Performance, Arron Singh as Head of Community Engagement, Molly Harcombe as Programming Assistant and Tom Betts as Head of BFI Film Academy Plus. The center also has a marketing team, an IT team, a technical team, a finance team, a human resources team, a facilities and studio management team, a business development and fundraising team, and a café-bar team. Chapter Arts Centre is a registered charity and company in England and Wales.

We perform all kinds of plays, in English and Welsh. The stage attracts spectators from Cardiff and England. Classical and more contemporary music concerts will delight those who have a poor understanding of English. Robert Plant, the singer of Led Zeppelin, performed here. The program is varied and often interesting. If you stay several nights in Brecon, especially on weekends, don't hesitate to take a look at the events planned. This independent café, right next to St Davids shopping center, offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of this busy neighborhood. Filled with regulars, Little Man Coffee welcomes you every day for tea, coffee or even a beer. A quiet, studious atmosphere where many students and teleworkers gather. The staff are warm and welcoming, and you'll immediately feel at home and want to settle in. For those in a hurry, all drinks and pastries are available to eat in or take away.

This beautiful half-timbered house is estimated to have been built in the early ^18th century. The façade gives it a Tudor look. A rummer is a large glass or cup for wine. As you can see, the atmosphere here is relaxed. Be warned, many employees and customers have seen ghosts! The place is particularly popular during sports broadcasts, when a good atmosphere prevails, with superb energy if Wales emerges victorious! You can also enjoy a snack or a more substantial meal.

Metros is a deep, long, low-ceilinged, partially lit room with a tunnel-like feel. The crowd is young, grungy, rock'n'roll. This club, established since 1992, is for you if you like rock, the alternative scene and a playlist that very often tends towards heavy metal music at some point in the evening. Indie music, baggy beats and cheap beer: this is the place! With its student atmosphere and friendly staff, it's sure to be a good night out with friends.

The Sherman Theatre presents a classical English repertoire as well as plays in Welsh. There are shows for children and families, comedy, dance... It reopened its doors in 2012 following a major refurbishment: new seats, creation of various public areas... From Monday to Saturday, you can also enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the café-bar. A pub with a good musical program: jazz on Thursdays, concerts at weekends... Generally very lively! The atmosphere is really excellent at every concert, with locals and tourists alike coming here to enjoy themselves in a relaxed atmosphere. In summer and on sunny days, you can make the most of the pleasant terrace and a few tables. The Sun Inn also offers excellent cuisine for lunch and dinner. And to complete the picture, to add to its reputation as a very good pub, The Sun Inn offers a wide variety of beers.

This nightclub boasts probably one of the most impressive buildings in the area: a former church on several levels, with a vast deep-blue dome at its center, studded with small golden stars. It's a beautiful space, where you can move from one room to another under vaulted ceilings or by means of beautifully carved wooden staircases. However, it could do with a little renovation... The simplistic decor upstairs is a little cold, but as the evenings are lively, this detail is quickly forgotten, given the good atmosphere.

The atmosphere here is intended to be trendy and targets a clientele that may be older than the St. Mary's neighbourhood. The club is divided into two floors, each containing two rooms with their respective bars. All of them are spacious, decorated in a rather designer way and in different atmospheres. You can choose between the "jewel bar" and its cosy luxury atmosphere, Decadia and its games and street atmosphere, "blanca bar" the champagne bar corner or Kanaloa for a more island atmosphere. The music is quite heterogeneous: funk, R'n'B, pop..

Opened in 1983, this popular cultural venue is often referred to as the "Welsh Club". Indeed, many "Welsh" and live Welsh music perform there, but also gigs and jam sessions... We come to dance and get in the mood for disco, electro pop or boogie nights. The programming is nice and we're having a good time. For many Cardiff residents, it is one of the capital's must-see nightlife spots. And to complete all this, there is a good team on site, good cocktails and beers at reasonable prices.

The former streetcar depot in the west of the Welsh capital has been transformed to become the home of this arts and entertainment venue. People come here for all kinds of shows: live radio broadcasts, sport, music, dance... In terms of location, it's close to Cardiff station and within easy walking distance of the city center. With its relaxed atmosphere and friendly welcome, Tramshed is always a good place to spend an evening! Plus: the venue isn't too big, so you can make the most of the concerts.

Opening in spring 2012, The Sugarplum Tea room is the perfect place for a delicate afternoon tea welsh in a pastel-coloured doll's house. The atmosphere is really warm and welcoming, with its soft and lively spirit. We come here for breakfast until 11am, with gluten and/or vegan-free options for those who wish: from a delicious choice of pancakes, avocado toast and poached eggs to a snack and lunch. Bara brith, ice creams, cakes, but above all absolutely appetizing round creamy cakes.

Easily accessible, this ambitious arts center includes no less than three cinemas, three art galleries and a theater housing two companies, with a bar and restaurant. It's one of Britain's largest arts centers, with a rather modern program. The Anglo-Saxon fashion is for Broadway-style musicals, and the town often plays host to London-based troupes breaking new ground here. And Chapter's history lasts, since in 2021, we celebrated our 50th anniversary!

Near Roath Park, this café (attached to the Fish & Field restaurant which, by the way, is also worth a visit) is a hidden gem, admittedly a little out of the way, but well worth the effort! Trendy decor, smiling service and a relaxed atmosphere. You can enjoy good coffees, ice creams and vegetarian and gluten-free creations at one of the tables or in the comfortable armchairs. You take your time and enjoy the place and what it has to offer. The welcome is perfect, and if you need help or advice, the team is on hand.

The setting is original - like an industrial warehouse - and lively, with huge vats of craft beers that feed directly into the pints. This brewery is known for its tasty unfiltered and unpasteurized beers. Perfect if you're then heading to Principality Stadium, just across the road. If you're hungry, let yourself be tempted by small appetizers such as Cajun shrimp, fried calamari... Before tackling mussels, pizzas, pastas or a variety of risottos. And we're even tempted by the mango beer...

A pub of character, the locals' favourite. According to tradition, it was built in 1410, during the revolt of Owain Glyndwr, but it is more likely to date from the Elizabethan era. In 1970, the building showed some signs of old age and during the renovation of the roof, superb murals were discovered, representing, among others, two horned devils, the Passion of Christ... They are still visible today. You only have to ask to see them.

An impressive collection of self-service games in this central Cardiff café. Perfect for an afternoon with family or friends, the Scaredy Cats offers hot drinks and pastries as well as beers and ciders. Here you'll find teleworkers in the afternoon and a more festive atmosphere in the evening, where regulars gather for a beer. Ty Gwyn is the village's must-see pub, nestled in a house dating from 1784. Locals and tourists alike appreciate it especially for its character and its Welsh music evenings on Friday evenings. You can listen to a live concert while tasting one of the beers on offer. We can also have a bite to eat there. The menu is without great surprise, we find the classic pub dishes, but the result works well and it's good! In summer and on sunny days, the sunny terrace is very pleasant with its few tables.

Charming traditional pub built in 1901 and often animated. Every Sunday, we enjoy a live music concert, on Saturday it's karaoke and on Thursday it's time for the famous pub quiz! If you want to have fun and meet new people, these evenings are the perfect time to discover the atmosphere of Robin Hood. In the kitchen, from traditional roast to exotic tapas, there's something for everyone! For wood-fired pizzas, it's from Thursday to Saturday evening (7pm-9pm). Good news for our animal friends, dogs are accepted without any problem.

A traditional and popular pub, especially on Sunday evenings during the famous pub quiz. There's a good selection of traditional beers, and you can play darts while watching the match on the screens. There's also a pleasant beer garden to enjoy in fine weather. Ideal for a good frothy beer and a chance to meet Welsh people. In terms of service and atmosphere, it's very good and you feel like you're in a typical local pub. To make the most of it, come after 7pm or on a Sunday evening, otherwise the place can quickly seem deserted and very quiet.

Opened in 2015, this former industrial warehouse of over 2,000^m2 hosts a multitude of events, each as original as the next, such as a street-food festival, "burgers & beats" evenings, graffiti initiation workshops.... It's time to rediscover your childlike curiosity and let yourself be taken in. Why not try one of the Bingo Lingo evenings? A creative and alternative place to experience! And if you fancy a drink, check out their bar, The Blind Tiger, with its hidden speakeasy atmosphere.

Here, low prices and a great atmosphere are the order of the day, whether you're looking for a typical British breakfast or a pint before or during a match. The staff will welcome you with a smile.
