The welcome at Alan Hughes is excellent. Some rooms overlook the castle, which is illuminated at night. One day, Queen Elizabeth II came to inaugurate a tunnel that diverts some of the traffic. On this occasion, Her Royal Majesty quenched her thirst with a gin and vermouth cocktail in a glass hastily unearthed for the occasion from a local antique dealer. Our host acquired it and displayed it, taking care to screw a copper plaque commemorating the event onto it: yet another reason to visit his dining room. In summer, it's best to book in advance.

About two miles from the center of Holywell (about 5 minutes by car, 45 min walk), Pantasaph Farm welcomes you in a beautiful farmhouse set in six hectares of farmland. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (especially the Pink Room). The living room is very pleasant and the breakfast is a real treat: everything is freshly prepared, with a wide choice and it's hearty! Evening meals are also available by reservation. Good to know: discounts are available from the second night booked. A quiet little gem.

Y Dderwen Fach ("The Little Oak") is a B&B set in a ^17th-century house, just a few minutes' walk from the town center, railway station and bus station. A really lovely welcome, here you're very well looked after and advised. And as they say, if they don't have the answer to your question, they'll find someone who can! The rooms are simple and clean (wifi, hairdryer, coffee, tea and kettle...). On-site bike storage and laundry facilities available at extra cost.

One of the city's greatest "coach inn", whose hotel is suitable, clean and comfortable. The old-fashioned side may appeal to some, but the kindness of the staff is undeniable. Friendly pub with Carmarthen atmosphere until midnight on weekends. The sixteen rooms are simple, but clean and very comfortable. We are quickly put at ease here and quickly, we feel at home. Only the room for 4 has its own bathroom, otherwise for the others there are shared showers and toilets. If you are a group of 7 people or less, you can also reserve a wooden cabin. Remember to book early enough, there aren't many places available and summer fills up fast!

Beautifully remodeled boutique hotel opened in 2016, following a £7 million investment to become "Wales's first contemporary art hotel". It takes its name(Twr y Felin means Mill Tower in Welsh) from the historic windmill integrated into the building. Bodnant Caravan Park is a pretty, flower-filled, well-kept and much sought-after site, run by the same family since it opened in the 1960s. Open from March to the end of October. A minimum number of nights may be required depending on the season. Pets are allowed for a small supplement. For their well-being, they must not be left alone in the caravans in midsummer. Good to know: the gate is closed (and locked!) every night from 11pm to 8am. Remember to let them know if you need to leave during these hours.

There are 24 beds, in dormitories or private rooms with the following breakdown: 2 double rooms, 2 quadruple rooms and 2 rooms for six people. The communal areas are very pleasant, with tables, armchairs and comfortable sofas. Board games are also available. The kitchen is fully equipped. Excellent value for money.
