The Longe-côte exists since 2005. Thomas Wallyn, a trainer at a rowing club in Dunkirk, is the inventor. Initially confidential, the discipline is more widely distributed by the association Opale Longe-côte. But what is it? It's a walking and water sport. The sportsman evolves upright in the water, immersed up to the waist. The efforts made are therefore substantial. The club also offers the practice of canoeing and kayaking in the river, as well as kayaking at sea. It is also possible, with an instructor, to learn to paddle.

With a length of 28 km and an estimated duration of 5h30, it allows you to admire the discreet châteaux nestling in the Lacquette valley, as well as the artesian wells used to grow watercress. From Witternesse to Blessy, this great circuit is available in several variants (11, 12 and 17 km) to suit all levels. At the departure of the church of Noyelles-lès-Vermelles, you will discover this mining region, thanks to the rider of a former railway line of the mines.

This 31-kilometre cycle circuit - which you can rest assured of, only partially - invites you to discover the natural and architectural heritage of this little sum of the Somme. In the programme: The Faloise and its traditional houses, Chirmont, Sourdon and its chapel Saint-Aubin, Quiry-le-Sec, well known for its long palm game, or Folleville, the ruins of its castle and its church classified as UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful swimming pool in the region! Right in the center of town, you can enjoy a pool renovated in 2013 with spa, hammam, solarium, swimming pool and leisure pool. In an Art Deco style with beautiful blue mosaics, the pool has been restored to its former glory after a long and ambitious refurbishment. From the bay windows, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the river Oise (we advise you to go at dusk...). It's a delight to relax in this former washhouse that became a swimming pool between the wars.

Some forty meters wide and 4.5 km long, the allée des Beaux-Monts was cut from the Imperial Palace at Napoleon's request. The idea was to offer Empress Marie-Louise a perspective similar to that of Schönbrunn Palace. The driveway ends in a hill with a splendid view of the forest and the Imperial Palace in the background. At the bottom of the hill begins the signposted "Les Beaux Monts" trail (4.1 km, medium difficulty). A path with steps makes for a less steep ascent of the hundred or so meters of difference in altitude. Once you've reached the top, at an altitude of 130 metres, catch your breath and enjoy the view all the way up to the château (even more romantic with twilight in front of you; for photos, take advantage of the light and frequent morning mist). Then follow the signposted path, or try a variation: take the old asphalt road (closed to cars) as far as the unmistakable Marie-Louise cedar. Turn left to pass the amazing grafted pines, then right again along the signposted path. The narrow path offers changes of gradient and pace before returning to the Beaux-Monts viewpoint and descending via an impressive oak tree that towers proudly over you at the top of its four centuries of age. These 240 hectares are among the best-protected and most-visited areas of the Compiègne state forest. Les Beaux-Monts is an emblematic site!

La Binouze Biker... A mysteriously hilarious name for a crazy orienteering and puzzle race of around 10 km by bike, in teams of 2 to 5. To put it simply, you pedal your way through the city to different stopping points, where you'll find riddles to solve in order to reach the next one, and so on until you reach your final destination: the bar! Or the restaurant, depending on the more or less serious theme of the race (latest editions: welsh, retirement...). In any case, a wild evening awaits you!

Set to allow history and architecture lovers to discover a rich heritage, the Lillers urban trail takes you to the college, the Flemish houses, the Argentier house, the cressonics, the chapel Notre-Dame-de-Mercy, the Relingues castle… and leads you through the crossroads. the Parc du Brûle, the public garden and leisure area of the Fanien family that made the wealth of the city by setting up a thriving footwear industry and with many vestiges.

From the Maison du Romelaëre, set out to discover the Audomarois region! This walk leads you through the marshes and the state forest of Rihoult, which covers nearly 1,200 hectares. Grey herons, wild boars, deer, and nocturnal birds of prey find refuge in this area of water, tall grass and trees. At the end of the forest, take the time to admire the church built in the ^19th century in the commune of Clairmarais and the old Cistercian abbey. Good to know: picnic areas are located along the walk.

Karting is practiced here, both in leisure and competition. The KLL is a FFSA-approved open-air track (1 star) 1 km long and 7 m wide, as well as 22 karts with electronic timing, including two-seater karts, ideal for accompanied children. All accessories are provided: gloves, hoods and helmets. Wetsuits are optional. For your group events, you will be supervised by qualified instructors who will be able to give you advice to help you progress and make the most of your day.

Coming from an old gravel pit, the Sauvagine pond was dug on 11 hectares in the village of the three steeples. The varieties of fish are numerous: carp, pike, tench, roach, eel, bream. Attention: to fish, you will have to provide you with an annual or daily card. It is also possible to walk around the pond, in the calm that characterizes the city. The visitors' parking lot has about 50 marked out spaces, from where it is easy to access the pond by taking small paths lined with flowery fallow land.

This beautiful walk crosses three villages and offers the opportunity to take an interested look at the Christian constructions of the hamlets, between the churches, calvaries and chapels built regularly in the past. Between two stopovers, nature also shows itself at its most beautiful, the green alleys and the banks of the Lys and the Liauwette make the walk very bucolic. In the hamlet of Creques, don't hesitate to make a small detour to admire the old water mill.

The centre welcomes riders, large and smaller, for the practice of their favourite discipline. Of course, the classes come year round, but the groups have the opportunity to come and enjoy the different equidae on reservation only. In addition to lessons, rural walks remain possible. So why not take a test tour?

Located not far from the city center of Wormhout, the "Etang des tTois sources" is an ideal place to go and fish for gudgeon or trout (in a very regulated environment). This leisure center, located in the grounds of an old farm, also offers a few walking paths and picnic tables to eat, whether alone or with the family. Note that the place is also perfect to learn about astronomy and try to catch a star in the sky!

Starting from the town hall of Wandignies-Hamage, this easy circuit follows small roads and agricultural paths through the typical landscapes of the Scarpe and the limestone plateau of Ostrevent. You will notice the censes, alignments of pollarded willows, the marshes, to which are added witnesses of the mining industry: the power station of Hornaing and the slag heaps as well as a beautiful fauna. In rainy periods, remember to bring waterproof shoes.

This is a very varied circuit! The trail starts in Rieulay and takes you through the surrounding meadows, poplar groves and marshes. Choose the period from April to October to avoid the wettest season. Ponds and pretty woodlands will enliven your hike. Note also the diversity of the hedgerows: willows, hornbeams, oaks, beeches, hazels, alders and wildlife, delighted to enjoy both the wetlands and the trees.

This circuit without difficulty starts from Tilloy-lez-Marchiennes, to discover characteristic environments of the Scarpe: forests, wet meadows and drainage ditches. Remember to bring binoculars to appreciate the diversity of birds. Roe deer, squirrels, owls will also be able to greet you. In spring, you'll smell the strong odor of wild garlic. And don't leave without your binoculars: in addition to the landscapes, you will be able to observe the diversity of bird species!

All the pleasure of sailing on the round basin, a place suitable for windsurfing, canoeing, Optimist... Of course, the whole team manages the training and the animation of the different clubs, as well as the preparation of the boat licence. The groups have not been neglected since formulas adapted to leisure activities allow to spend a day in the open air while taking advantage of the numerous other activities of the base: mountain biking, rollerblading, archery, etc.
