CWTCH ATELIER CERAMIQUE

Cwtch is pronounced "coutch" and it means cuddle in Welsh. It's the first word Marion learned when she lived in Wales. From there, she brings us a concept, still not very widespread in France: painting on earthenware. Over there, many parents have painted themselves mugs or plates stamped with the imprint of the baby's foot or handcuff. It is also a very popular activity for birthdays and bachelorette parties. Today, with her long braid behind her back, Marion has set up shop in the heart of Nantes, at 24 rue Armand-Brossard, to open her earthenware painting workshop. Brushes on the tables, a playful space for the little ones, and more than 300 earthenware models on the shelves, here, you can choose your bowl, your plate, your trivet or your cute trinket to make your own work. In a free workshop or in a directed workshop, there is no age to let yourself be carried away by the caress of the brush on the object and express your creativity. Birthdays, bachelorette parties, births or just for fun, there is always a good reason to take a creative art workshop. Also note the kits to take home to paint earthenware.

ÉCOLE SUPÉRIEURE DES BEAUX-ARTS (ESBA)

Creative leisure activities

It is in the old, but still sumptuous, mansion house of Ollone that the Angers School of Fine Arts established its lair at the beginning of the last century. An exceptional setting, characterized by its intrinsic links to history, art and architecture, of course. A perfect place to host the courses of this school, divided according to specific schedules and age categories, with Wednesday being reserved for early learning workshops for 9-14 year olds. The other slots are intended for preparatory drawing courses (15-20 years old), multimedia courses (Terminale students), and finally sessions dedicated to adults. Be careful, registration, normally limited to a single course, must be done early, as places are expensive and the waiting list long... (final registrations at the end of August, beginning of September). The rates, which are variable, take into account the duration of the course and family income.

ARCAM GLASS

Creative leisure activities

Located in Vertou's Vertonne area, Arcam Glas is Simon's design studio. But it's also the place where you can be introduced to glassblowing techniques. The workshop can accommodate up to 6 people. During the workshop presentation, you'll learn about all the elements that make up glass (sand, soda, lime, etc.), the different techniques involved in its manufacture (mixing, melting, thermoforming, sandblasting, cooling, etc.) and the tools required (blowing rod, kiln, etc.). Then it's on to the making! With the first glass picking (the glassblower begins by "picking" (or gathering) a mass of molten glass in the pot or crucible furnace, or in the basin furnace). The glass is then worked and the tools practiced. The first step is to obtain a drop of glass before inlaying color. Then we repeat the glassblower's gestures to shape the glass into a unique piece. You'll leave the workshop amazed and delighted with a drop, a paperweight with a color and a unique glass, or another masterpiece created by Simon, Anaïs and Thomas.

This is also the place to learn about pottery and ceramics from Pernette, discover graffiti (Byzantine technique) and other historical decoration techniques.
