Getting around by train Ile-De-France

It is the station for trains linking central and southern France: Orléans, Limoges, Montluçon, Toulouse, Brive, Cahors, as well as night trains to Nice and the Alps, in particular. The station's facade has been renovated, and its interior is the subject of a vast redevelopment project that has been ongoing for years. The only Parisian station to still have a few free platforms while the other stations are saturated, the Gare d'Austerlitz is set to grow in importance in the near future. The Lyon train station is served by RER lines A and D, and the line R of the Transilien (Montargis and Montereau). In work, it grows to receive 45 million broad-line travellers annually by 2020, or 10 million more than today.

On its display panels, you'll find Transilien Line P trains, TERs to Champagne, the Ardennes and the Marne Valley, TGVs to Alsace, Lorraine, Luxembourg and Germany, and night trains to Hanover, Berlin, Munich... A wide range of destinations. The Gare de l'Est, considered by many to be the most beautiful in the capital, is the capital's gateway - or exit - to the East. There are plenty of stores here, and the Gare du Nord is an easy 500-metre walk away.

The station is connected to the TGV networks South, West, North, as well as to Thalys and Main lines. It is located between terminals 2 C, 2 D, 2 E and 2 F and is served by the free shuttle CDGVAL (towards terminals 1 and 3) and by bus airports of Paris N 1 (stops at terminals 2 A, 2 B, 2 C, 2 D, 2 E and 2 F).

With 180 million passengers a year, it is touted as Europe's leading station in terms of traffic. This "major multimodal crossroads" is home to RER lines B and D, Transilien lines H and K, TGVs serving most of the major conurbations in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, as well as others to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, and Eurostar to London. With its many stores (in the section dedicated to regional traffic), the station is undergoing major renovations in the run-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Serving both RER and TGV trains, Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station offers a wide range of services. It welcomes several million passengers every year. The RER line takes you to Paris in just 40 minutes. Count on a train every thirty minutes during the day. The station is also served by numerous bus and coach lines, with two bus stations (north and south). From here, shuttles leave for the Disney Park hotels. Don't forget it!

Served by 4 metro lines and numerous buses, Gare Montparnasse serves the whole of western France: Brittany, Pays de la Loire and the entire Atlantic coast, as well as the western Pyrenees and Toulouse. This busy station offers a wide range of services, including luggage storage and car rental. Entirely renovated, access is now easier, and several dozen stores have opened on its different levels. You can spot it from afar: the tower of the same name is just across the street!

Its beautiful façade with nine statues representing the cities of the North, is the work of Hittorf to whom we also owe the Winter Circus, the Place de l'Etoile or the gardens of the Champs-Elysées.

Coulommiers station is an ideal starting point for travelers wishing to reach Paris Est by train. Departures are regular throughout the day, with timetables ranging from 12.38 pm to 10.36 pm. Trains are operated by SNCF, and the journey takes around an hour. Coulommiers station also offers bus services, although specific information on destinations and timetables is not available. Several possible destinations from the three stations in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines: Rambouillet, Defence, Massy Palaiseau, Saint Martin-d'Etampes and Paris Montparnasse and Paris Austerlitz (RER C). In partnership with SQYBUS, an info station point was put in place at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines station and offers users the possibility of obtaining practical information about the agglomeration. Built in the 1940 s, Suresnes station is convenient for Paris. On the main line Saint-Cloud/Paris Saint-Lazare, a train passes every 15 minutes. On the other line connecting La Verrière à La Défense, there is a train every 15 to 30 minutes and a train every day on Sundays and every day in the evening. Close to the train station, Franklin Roosevelt's 190-seat pay car park is designed for vehicles. Connections are possible with public transit transport having a close stop: lines 241, AS Suresnes b and 563 of the RATP bus network and line 213.40 of the Veolia Transport Nanterre network.

Owned by SNCF, Transilien is the network operating in Paris and the Île-de-France region. There are 15 lines covering a network of almost 1,300 kilometres criss-crossing the region. Of these 15 lines, 2 are operated with RATP (RER A and B), and some others are tramway lines (4, 11, 12 and 13). If all this seems a bit confusing, it's much simpler when it comes to fares: the regulatory authority, Île-de-France Mobilités, is responsible for applying a common fare structure, and tickets are readily available.

It's one of the most important stations in Paris. On the surface, hundreds of trains run every day to the western suburbs, as well as to towns in Normandy, including Rouen, Le Havre, Caen and Cherbourg. Underground, there are 4 metro lines, as well as the RER E, which now connects the eastern suburbs with La Défense and Nanterre. Completely renovated ten years ago, the station also boasts dozens of stores and restaurants, grouped together in a gallery located in the huge former salle des pas perdus.

It's the essential hub for the south of Paris: Massy TGV station enables you to travel to dozens of destinations, from Brittany to the Atlantic coast, as well as Brussels, Avignon and Marseille. The station also provides a convenient interconnection for province-province TGV trains, avoiding the heart of the capital! The Massy-Palaiseau station is just a stone's throw away: served by the RER B and C lines, as well as the new T12 tramway and Transilien V lines, it is due to receive metro line 18 in 2027!

For Paris: From the train station of Versailles Building to Paris Montparnasse station. There is also a link between the train station of Versailles Rive Right and Paris Saint-Lazare, which passes through La Défense. Towards the suburbs or farther in the province, trains every quarter of hour for Mantises, Dreux, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Rambouillet and Chartres. The future «tangential» north-south of Cergy-Pontoise in Melun-Senart, passing through Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Massy, and whose section Versailles-Massy is already open. The direct TGV, without going through the capital, towards Lyon (at 2 p. m.) and Avignon (at 4 p. m.) allow for a return to the day. Liaison with Massy allows access to all TGV.

From Paris Est, SNCF links the stations of Chelles, Vaires-sur-Marne, Lagny-sur-Marne, Esbly and Meaux with connections to Crecy-la-Chapelle, Coulommiers and La Ferté-sous-Jouarre. The RER lines serving Seine-et-Marne since Paris are four: A, B, D, E. To reach Paris in Chessy - Marne la Vallée, take the RER A - Gare de Lyon - which connects, in Seine-et-Marne, Champs-sur-Marne, Noisiel, Lognes, Torcy, Bussy-Saint-Georges, Val d'Europe and Chessy - Marne la Vallée. The RER B - Gare du Nord - serves the north-west stations of the department: Villeparisis, Mitry-Mory.

The RER D - Gare de Lyon - connects Paris to Melun. Stations serviced in Seine-et-Marne: Lieusaint, Savigny-le-Temple, Cesson, Le Confirmed-sur-Seine. On the RER E - Gare de l'Est, it connects the stations of Chelles, Emerainville - Pontault-Combault, Roissy-en-Brie, Ozoir-la-Ferrière, Born-Armainvilliers, Tournan. TGV lines. The train station of Chessy - Marne-la-Vallée - Disneyland Paris - is a European TGV train node - Eurostar and Thalys - linking the large cities in northern Europe - London, Lille, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam - and the major French cities - Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseilles, Nice, Montpellier. Serving the town of La Frette and the western districts of Montigny-lès-Cormeilles, this station is served by line J, and reaches Paris Saint-Lazare in just twenty minutes, with several dozen daily rotations. It is linked to the surrounding neighborhoods by several bus lines. The station is also a small piece of local history, having been painted (or its immediate surroundings) by such greats as Eugène Paul and Tadashi Kaminagai.

It's probably the most beautiful station in the Val Parisis conurbation: Taverny's half-timbered facade is topped by a small turret with a clock, giving the whole a Norman feel, reminding us that this region is only a few dozen kilometers away! On a daily basis, Taverny station is served by Transilien line H trains, taking you to the French capital in around half an hour. The station is served by buses to the surrounding districts, and parking spaces are available.

Completely renovated in the 2010s, the station is modern and boasts a number of shops: Ermont-Eaubonne station, on the border of the two communes, is one of the main transport hubs of the Val Parisis conurbation. In addition to a large bus station, the railway station is served by three lines: the RER C to Paris from the west, the H line to Gare Saint-Lazare and the H line to Gare du Nord. The modern infrastructure also includes a number of shops.
