LA DIVINE COMEDIE
Read moreWelcome to one of the oldest districts of Perpignan. Welcome to the Divine Comedy, a former convent where today they serve you asses! The speciality of the house. These "shots" which are mixtures of fruit and alcohol and are drunk ass-up send you straight to hell. The Perpignanese between 25 and 40 years old love this concept and take over Miguel's bar every weekend. Exposed stone, cayroux and subdued lighting: we love it. As for the atmosphere, "it depends on the evening, something between rock, funk and soul", says the owner.

THE TASTING ROOM
Read moreHadrian has taken over the Canard Bleu, the Carcassonne epicurean and aesthete's den, set up a few years ago by the traveler chef Robert Haumont. Since then, the place has been called the aptly named Tasting Room, to get away from the crowds of the city center. Don't talk to him about his famous American origins because our international wine merchant likes to remain discreet. He prefers to emphasize his Italian side, which he has well represented in his cellar with wines that make you travel. You can also find local wines and "fatto in Italia" pizzas.

On the terrace and in the calm of the pedestrian street or in one of the two rooms with their refined decoration which brilliantly combine old and modern, we simply love it!

Evenings, events and concerts are regularly organised. Everything is on the Facebook page.
LE CARCANET
Read moreLe Carcanet is a bar and crêperie with a simple and "woody" decoration, like a mountain inn. People from the village come here as much as tourists to taste pancakes or dishes, to drink local beers and especially to enjoy the most beautiful terrace of Formiguères: a series of tables overlooking the stream. The magical sound of the water running over the polished granite or lulling our ears... A mountain village without these sounds is no longer a mountain village, and Formiguères is lucky, because the river Aude flows through it.

HIPPODROME DE SOULANCERRE-TRIE SUR BAISE
Read moreThis racecourse schedules races once a year, in August. The Soulancerre racecourse was founded on the former De Mazoyer lands, acquired in 1899 by Madame Arquie. The first race took place in 1901 on a longer track than today's. There are then two meetings per year, on Sundays. In 1932, François Arquie sold the land he had inherited. The young Léopold Prat, owner of a stable, bought the property. During the Second World War, horse racing ceased. They were relaunched in 1945, but no longer take place on Sundays, but on Tuesday, market day. A great success! The racecourse became the meeting place for the farmers of the region, the people taking the waters in Capvern, and the people from Biarritz who came by bus. The beautiful ones compete in elegance with their toilets designed by local seamstresses and their hats bought from the Miélan fashion designer. Leopold Prat's team rivals that of Ransou de Barran. And everyone meets in the evening at the restaurant.

Meetings have already been held with various local players, such as the principal of Lycée Jean-Monnet and the farm manager, as well as representatives of the region and local landowners. The region considers that this matter should be handled by local authorities, and that the long-term future of the racecourse will depend on the financial and human resources required for its upkeep. Several avenues of financing are being explored, notably with the regional and national racecourse federations, as well as the Conseil du Cheval. Further meetings are planned to discuss a possible transfer of responsibilities.
