Libraries to visit Lorraine

Frequented by the students from the Ecole de l'image (Beaux-Arts), this small library is a true wonder, and this for lovers of ancient and contemporary art. It combines wonderfully indeed modernity (in design) and antiquity (with old exposed stones). At the heart of the museum, on the first floor, there are more than 2,500 books. This library also has an interesting collection of old books that concern archaeology, numismatics, popular imagery. Many recent works books also offer a fairly complete picture of ancient and contemporary artistic creation, as well as the history of Vosges and Lorraine.

The library of Nogent has several interests: it is first a place of memory of the character whose name it bears: Bernard Dimey, poet, lyricist, author of songs that became legendary such as "Syracuse". In mid-May, a festival of poems and songs is organized in his honour, as we regret, a small part of passionate. The library, with its bourgeois and contemporary façade at a time, offers you a room dedicated to music and cinema, a reading room children and adults, a cyber-base and finally, the so-called «Cellar in Bernard». In a vaulted room you can see exhibitions, films, concerts, intimate shows… A cultural place that imposes a policy of sharing!

Whatever your age, you can relax in the magazine area, study in the work room, read with your children or grandchildren in the youth section: the library team is always there to advise you in your choices. Here, there are no fewer than 28 000 documents: books, magazines, CD and CD-Roms are available to visitors. For younger people, more than 2000 albums of all kinds and 350 stories are offered. And for a little larger children, there are more than 1300 novels, 1500 documentaries and 600 youth comic strips plus 160 child Cds.
