Strasbourg's famous train station, with its beautiful glass roof, offers travelers easy access by train to major cities such as Paris, Aéroport CDG2 TGV, Munich and Marseille. The Entzheim airport is also connected four times an hour. Thanks to its TER network, it also offers easy access to the whole of Alsace. Strasbourg international airport is home to several airlines, and offers 45 regular destinations. Public transport network within the Colmar agglomeration, Trace serves 20 communes with 16 lines during the week and 3 lines on Sundays and public holidays. LE MET' is Metz's bus network, an efficient transport system serving the city and its suburbs. With comfortable, fully-equipped buses, MET' offers a pleasant experience. Regular timetables and good geographical coverage make this network a practical choice for getting around the Metz region. Numerous special services are also available to meet everyone's needs (night buses, shuttles, self-service bicycles, park-and-ride facilities, etc.). Several fares are available.

As the departure and arrival point of the numerous buses of the TIM network (Transport Interurbain de Moselle), the station is bustling! Once on board, the comfortable buses will serve the main cities of the department (Forbach, Thionville) but also more outlying areas such as the Fensch valley or the Saint-Avold region. Sundays are not forgotten as there are regular routes to Thionville and Rombas via Amnéville. To welcome the TGV East, the train station in Strasbourg and its place have undergone a radical metamorphosis. It is now a larger station with more services that cater for occasional travelers or daily users.

Starting from Paris, the SNCF offers every day sixteen trips to direct TGV.

Since June 2007, the TGV East is Paris at 2 a. m. in Strasbourg. The completion of the high-speed line will reduce this journey time to 1 hour by 2015.

From Bordeaux, there are five daily TGV frequencies connecting Strasbourg live without change of train or passage to Paris. The journey time is 6 hours.

From Marseille, there are two direct journeys, one day in TGV, which lasts 6 hours 39 and one night in Coral Lunea that lasts about 10 hours. For journeys with correspondence, they will be via Paris or via Lyon. The TGV Rhine-Rhône line is under construction between Mulhouse and Dijon, meeting in 2011.

Thanks to the arrival of the TGV Rhine-Rhône, Strasbourg will only be 5 hours away from Marseille.

Other cities are connected to Strasbourg in direct TGV, such as Nantes - 5 hours 10 -, Rennes - 5 hours 15 -, and Lille - 3 hours 20 - or Champagne Ardenne TGV - 1 hour 50 - and Lorraine TGV - 1 hour 10.
