The Opéra de Rouen is the city's cultural institution, with two performance halls: the Théâtre des Arts and the Chapelle Corneille. Every year, 100,000 spectators flock here to enjoy top-quality operas, concerts and dance performances. All audiences are catered for, with performances for children and the visually and hearing impaired. We love the €5 ticket for under 28s and those on minimum social benefits. Change of direction for the Comédie de Caen, with Aurore Fattier now in charge of the institution's development. The Comédie de Caen is LE 32 in Caen and the CDN in Hérouville. The latter houses a digital workshop for set and costume construction. It showcases both classic and contemporary works. Bonus: the shows aren't just for the well-heeled, and there are packages to suit everyone!

Built at the end of the ^19th century, the magnificent cirque-théâtre d'Elbeuf is one of the last eight permanent circuses in France, and the only one with an Italian-style ring and stage. A venue for performances, training, creation, artistic discoveries and encounters, this vast complex is now home to the regional circus arts center. Its programming, which has succeeded in dusting off the circus arts, is based on innovation and multi-disciplinarity, and is aimed at all audiences, children and adults alike.

The "32" is a performance hall in the heart of the city and is part of the Centre Dramatique National - Comédie de Caen, based in Hérouville-Saint-Clair. This theater is a place of work and artistic diffusion with, of course, shows, exhibitions, workshops or artists' residences. The programming is eclectic in order to satisfy an always wider public. With many reduced rates, adaptations in LSF or shows for a young audience, the theater is no longer reserved for an elite and wants to be multiple just like its public!

Unique in its kind (already by its look), the theater of Caen bets on the eclecticism: its programming opens to all the genres of the living spectacle. One can thus see operas, concerts, plays, dance shows... A clever trick for students who cannot always afford a ticket for a show, advantageous offers are put in place. Think about it, if you show up 30 minutes before the show, discounts of up to -85% are offered on the seats still available upon presentation of a receipt!

Behind its recognisable red facade, the Vox is located at the entrance of the city, when you come from La Glacerie. Third pole of the Trident Scène Nationale, which also includes the Théâtre à l'italienne and the Théâtre de la Butte, the Vox has 240 seats, arranged in long benches. Music shows, contemporary or classical, productions or creations, it's a wide programme that awaits you here. If the Vox has a few parking spaces, don't hesitate to park a little further away so as not to turn too long.

Let the one who has never wanted to go to the little corner raise his finger. Finally we must not think of the same... The P'tit Coin is a small intimate theater with 50 seats that allows unknown talents to become known. Certainly, from the outside the building is not very warm but the laughter is shared inside. In addition to this P'tit Coin, the large room opposite can accommodate 200 seats (175 at the table during cabarets). Every year, festivals are organized here several times. Reserve your seats.

To have a good time and laugh out loud, nothing beats an evening at the Théâtre à l'Ouest, Rouen's stage dedicated to comedy. This 180-seat venue, created by director Loïc Bonnet and presenter Bruno Roblès, now gives pride of place to comedians of all stripes with one-man and one-woman shows, stand-up comedy, improvisation shows... It's an opportunity to discover new talents in comedy and to meet up with well-known comedians. Moreover, the godfather of the theatre is none other than Franck Dubosc, a native of Petit-Quevilly

The Silence & Songe company offers dreamlike, multidisciplinary shows in Caen. Their website, silenceetsonge.com, offers more information on their past creations, such as "Le Temps des cendres" in 2025, "Coriolis" in 2022, "Anticyclone" in 2021, "Madeleine" in 2020, "Mon Toit du monde" in 2018 and "Linon" in 2012. The company blends different arts such as theater, magic, visual arts, digital arts and music to create sensory and emotional experiences. For the 2022-2023 season, they have planned a tour with their show "Anticyclone" to various towns in France, including Le Grand Bornand, Changé, Beaumont-Hague, Passais, Le Havre, Dinan, Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc, Petit-Couronne, Saint-Sauveur-Lendelin, Sainte Croix Hague, La Guéroulde, Paris and Évrecy.

The Trident gives the city of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin a place of choice in the network of 70 national stages in France. Under this illustrious name, the management of three theatres is revealed. The national stage attracts approximately 30,000 spectators per year and hosts nearly 130 performances annually. Young artists and companies are received in residence and present their creations to the general public, and the programming is very rich.

The Théâtre du Casino opened its doors for the first time in 1911. Since then, it has hosted many shows and some of the great names in French song have taken their first steps there. Transformed into a cinema, then abandoned for almost a quarter of a century, it was reborn in 2001 under the name Archipel. Today, its cutting-edge equipment, the dynamism and passion of its team, make it one of the must-see cultural venues in the Channel.

This is a little place just like we love them! This theatre of the Haute-Ville, built in the 1820s, is a small room of some sixty places, renovated a few years ago, which hosts local creations, but not only. Theatre plays or concerts are regularly programmed in this intimate and charming setting. The place also serves as a residence, and schools offer courses. Anyway, it turns out!

As usual, the THC presents a rich and public season, where alternating theatre, music, song. For children, programming of a Côté Diem season for theater performances, storytelling, dance, puppets Wednesday afternoon.

This is a most atypical place where culture and show come to nest regularly. For almost thirty years, for example, the festival hall welcomes the Locale actors'local troupe for seven weekends at the beginning of the year. Concerts and evenings are organised as much as afternoon dancing.

A nice walk for Le Henhouse who has just celebrated its years of existence. We climb the stairs, and to contradict Clemenceau, this is not the best time: The shows given in this old apartment sometimes offer beautiful surprises. It is therefore in a small room of about places that they suit the public, happy to come there for seven years to discover amateur actors but facetious and never short of idea. Because the talent is not missing at Le Havre! Every Wednesday, place to improvisation.

The Sainte-Address cultural centre was renovated in 1999. Meals and shows are available. The room receives jazz fans during the New Orleans International Festival, Dixie Days in May. We have seen in this hall, whose godmother is Annie Girardot and the godfather of Le Havre Havre Hamet, more animations, however than in recent years. It can accommodate 400 people and seemed "perfect for the theatre" according to Annie Girardot itself.

One of the beautiful rooms in the Havre area, which hosts quality shows, the FRIT theatre improvisation matches (local team), the science and technology salon and the film festival from the grain to Démoudre.

End of the performances in the small room sanvicaise! After seven years of theatre management, the company decided to stop the programming of shows to devote itself to its own creations and to the training of some 80 students. Everything leading up to it became difficult. The company's performances will now be given in other partner locations.

Close to the forest of Montgeon, the Bastringue is a decentralized coffee-show, a little like an apartment in which you would see actors playing. In any case, it is the vocation of Claudie and Thierry Tanter, who have seen for a year the reputation of their small place, old old fashioned boiler boiler, growing up. The mouth does the rest, for every time up to fifty spectators. Local theatre companies and musicians play the game, happy to be in a friendly atmosphere, and ready to exchange with the public at the end of the show around a drink or bread.

From October to June, the La Manicle company in Le Havre offers professionally supervised workshops for children, teenagers and adults. The program is rich and varied. The theater workshop offers an introduction to acting, directing and producing. The company also offers video workshops for filming, editing and writing. In addition, "Le Théâtre du dimanche" takes place one Sunday a month, and expression/sophrology workshops are held every other week. Shows and exhibitions are also organized for the enjoyment of all.
