In the region, the network is vast: no high-speed lines, but numerous short lines linking medium-sized towns, all articulated around the main routes of Paris-Caen-Cherbourg and Paris-Rouen-Le Havre, the latter being timed to ensure easy connections and clear timetables.

Read moreLocated on the SNCF Paris-Granville line, the Gare de l'Aigle is Orne's first train station when you arrive from the capital, just 1h30 away. Recently completely renovated to meet accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility, it has a ticket office and two tracks. Every day, in addition to the capital, some fifteen connections take you directly to Granville, Flers, Dreux or Argentan. There are also buses from here to Surdon, for example, and on to the prefecture of Alençon.
GARE SNCF D'EVREUX NORMANDIE
Read moreLocated on the Paris-Cherbourg line, the station, now renamed Évreux-Normandie, is linked by dozens of daily trains to the capital and to towns along the Normandy coast. From Évreux, you can reach Bayeux and its tapestry, Caen, its Memorial and its D-Day beaches, as well as Deauville, Trouville and Cherbourg. Rouen can be reached by coach, with the bus station just around the corner.
GARE SNCF DE CHERBOURG-EN-COTENTIN

Cherbourg station, right in the centre of town and just a few dozen metres from the Bassin du Commerce, links the city to Paris, Caen and other towns in Normandy via a dozen daily trains. Here you'll find a store selling newspapers, sandwiches and drinks. The station now benefits from improved access and a large forecourt, as the major construction work on the bus rapid transit system draws to a close.
