It's the largest and busiest in the département. Cherbourg station, right in the centre of town and just a few dozen metres from the Bassin du Commerce, links the city to Paris, Caen and other towns in Normandy via a dozen daily trains. Here you'll find a store selling newspapers, sandwiches and drinks. The station now benefits from improved access and a large forecourt, as the major construction work on the bus rapid transit system draws to a close.

Flixbus has one of the most extensive bus networks in Europe. From Rouen, you can reach many French and international destinations. Recognized by their green logo with two orange arrows, Flixbus buses are punctual and well-maintained. They have free WiFi and snacks are sold on board. Staff are generally welcoming. Remember to make reservations via the Flixbus website or mobile app before you travel. The driver only sells tickets at full fare.

So, in addition to buying tickets, you can buy discount cards that are worth the trip: for example, the €49 Avantage card (Youth, Adult and Senior card) gives you a 30% discount on your trips, as well as an additional discount for accompanying children. It pays for itself as early as the next trip after the first round trip.

To reach England from Normandy, there are three ports and three possibilities: Le Havre, Caen-Ouistreham and Cherbourg. From each of these ports, you can embark on one of the ships of the fleet, direction Portsmouth, which offers direct access to the main motorways and is 2 hours from London by car. Crossings average between 2h15 (for fast ships) and 8h45 for a night ferry crossing. Every year, hundreds of thousands of passengers board the ferry.

Rouen, Le Havre, Avranches and Caen: Flixbus offers a wide range of connections from the capital. Fares may vary according to the season, but the well-designed website also lets you find out how full a bus is, so you can plan ahead! While the introductory price is low, it can quickly rise in high season. Buses are comfortable and equipped with Wi-Fi, toilets and electrical outlets. Beyond Normandy, the network offers numerous connections to French and European cities.

It is a pretty station, typical of the late 19th century... From here, direct connections to Paris leave and arrive via Vire, Flers or Dreux for example. Special feature: from the capital, you take the train at the small station of Vaugirard, itself located in the extension of the Montparnasse station. The other Normandy lines from Paris leave from the Saint-Lazare station. For some years now, the Caen-Rennes line has also been passing through here, and Granville is also connected to the two regional capitals.

It's an attractive airport with well-maintained facilities.
