Three falafel stands are located on Sadar Bazaar and are always full, whatever the time of day. Our favorite is probably Just Falafel for its interior, which is a little more neat than the others. You will meet many Israeli tourists there, but also many others, because the falafels of Pushkar are famous. Ideal to fill a small hunger or for a light meal, the sandwiches are simply delicious and allow to change the dal or mutter paneer. Not very authentic, but frankly good!

This trendy little café-restaurant is adjacent to the boutique of the same name. The golden youth of Jaipur meets here to enjoy bagels, falafels, tapenade, brie sandwiches, hummus, pesto... The choice of international inspiration is not only very eclectic, but also very convincing. The pastries, cookies, chocolates and desserts of all kinds also hit the spot. You can accompany everything with an espresso (a rarity in India), a fruit juice or an ice tea. If you need to let go, this is the place to be.

This is where you can find the best bhature chole bhature in Delhi. This Punjabi vegetarian speciality treats Indians to a delicious breakfast. Chickpeas served in a spicy sauce and accompanied by small puffed patties will keep you going for a long time and give you the energy to wander around the city. If you find it difficult to eat salty food in the morning, treat yourself to this invigorating break at lunch before snooping around in the nearby Main Bazaar. Feel free to ask for directions to the famous red storefront.

Another institution in Varanasi. For those who have known Blue Lassi for a long time, the quality fluctuates over the years. The tiny tasting room encourages meetings with other travelers. On the menu: more than a hundred flavors of lassis, with fruits, chocolate, etc. We particularly recommend the one with saffron and dried fruits. Be careful, avoid ordering a "Special Lassi", and be careful with your belongings, the success of the place has attracted many unsavory people...

Don't worry if you don't see a price on the menu, here you pay as you feel. This is an associative café that offers a reintegration project for acid burned women. In addition to working in this café, which offers snacks and drinks, clothing and handicrafts, they study to try to resume a normal life. Disfigured, most of these women are reduced to begging to survive. Here, they find a project that gives them back their self-confidence and will allow them to envisage a future.

Among the specialties of this shop: bhang in all forms. Lassi, fruit juices, cookies, cakes, chocolate... For those who have not heard of bhang, it is a preparation made from cannabis leaves. In this region, Indians are fond of it, especially during religious festivals. This official store is approved by the government. Nothing illegal, but beware, some bhang can be very strong. Some tourists attracted by the thrill have had the bad experience.

Who doesn't know the Omelette Shop? It is impossible to stay in Jodhpur without seeing this famous man who sells hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs... and especially omelets. His stand is located on the left side of the Sardar Market entrance, on the old city side. Victim of his success, Ramkishan Gwalani faces many traders who try to imitate him, even if some of them have closed down with the Covid-19 pandemic. While enjoying a good cheese masala omelet, take a look at his guest books; they are very funny!

Since its opening in 2016, this tiny café has not stopped filling up. A la carte, a large choice of fresh products to get you settled early in the morning or for a light breakfast. But above all, a very large choice of coffees, espresso or elongated, machiatto or frappé, that will satisfy caffeine addicts. Beware, between 9 and 10 am there is often a queue, as yoga enthusiasts all arrive here after their morning session in the nearby centre. The three tables set up on the small terrace are quickly taken by storm. From there, one can observe the lively Gangaur Ghat district.

A nice little cafe that has a walk on the street, just steps from the lake. Held by the same owners as the Tiger, it is especially appreciated for its espresso (as at home) and its delicious pastries. Let yourself be tempted by the roll roll.

Located under the Utsav Biryani House, this is a typical small family restaurant: three tables, a television always on and pictures of Darjeeling from the last century and of Kangchenjunga. Noodle soups, momos, kothays, to be tasted on the spot, or even to be taken away, because this "Tibetan fast-food" is taken by storm at all hours of the day. The place also acts as a mini-market and sells drinks, snacks, bread...

Halfway between Mughal and Lebanese cuisine, the address is known by all the regulars of the neighborhood for its reasonable prices. Shawarma, seekh kebab, chicken tikka or chicken dhaba, the chef's specialty, are some of the classics of the house to be enjoyed on the go. For a lighter and refreshing break you can also have a raita. The restaurant has only a few tables in a typical fast-food setting (clean), but you can also sit outside on the terrace when the weather is good.

The purists say of this dhaba that it serves as the puri and not of the paranthas. Always it is that the choice is vast (approximately 30 paranthas different) and that the result is delicious. We recommend the mix parantha to you, to fall, probably one of best of the neighborhood! Like all the cheap restaurants of Parantewali gali, cleanliness leaves something to be desired, but the continuous flow ensures the freshness of the products. Only problem, the menu is in Hindi, but you will easily find somebody to guide you in your choice in English.

A few tables under an awning and others on the bank of the Nawal Sagar invite you to take a refreshing break in a lovely garden. You can eat there at any time of the day for a reasonable price or quench your thirst with a cold drink. The place is particularly popular at sunset and the tables can quickly be overrun in high season. Without being unforgettably romantic, the place is very pleasant, especially thanks to its unobstructed view. They also serve beer under the coat, but shh.

This shop was recommended to us as the one that serves the best chai in India. While we cannot verify the truth of this statement, the Bengali Tea Shop does serve delicious spiced tea. You only have to see the crowd that rushes in at all hours to be sure. In summer, when the temperature becomes unbearable, you can cool down with a delicious lassi. Samosas and parathas will accompany your break in the shade of a tree. The sign is only in Hindi but you will easily find the establishment.

The kati roll is Bengal's specialty: a still hot parotha , an egg spread on it that is finishing its cooking, minced red onions, a pinch of chili, lemon juice, then the filling of your choice: paneer, chicken or mutton. You'll find them all over the city but they're probably the best here according to our local sources! It's hearty, the meat is tender and the roll is juicy. The classic egg chicken roll. Eating a Kati Roll standing in the street is a perilous exercise, watch your fingers!

Four small stalls lined up, close to St. Paul's church in Landour, mainly frequented by students from the nearby Woodstock School. The food is simple, but the place is especially popular with travelers for its friendly atmosphere, the kindness of the shopkeepers and the great view. Sit on the terrace to enjoy the place. You can enjoy snacks(parotha, omelets, sandwiches, maggi noodles), sweet pancakes, and of course hot drinks (different kinds of tea and coffee).

A large room in the basement with several tables and surprisingly comfortable benches. This Indian-style fast-food restaurant serves mainly South Indian specialities: masala dosa, uttapam, iddly... But also burgers, grilled sandwiches, pizzas... The titles of the dishes can sometimes seem a bit simple compared to what is served. The place is particularly famous for its ice creams. To find it, take a left out of the Kutch museum. The restaurant is just behind the red temple on the square.

If you haven't had a chance to try the creamy lassis at Jaipur's Lassiwala, you can make up for it here. This street corner stall sells delicious saffron flavored lassis. They are prepared freshly every day and if you come early in the morning, you will even see Anant doing the final preparations. Served in the traditional clay cups, you can ask for it salted, sweetened, with extra cream. A perfect stop after visiting the museum which is just a few steps away.

Located on the second floor of a small building, this popular local eatery has a real snack bar feel. Tiles are everywhere, tables are raised and benches run along the walls. South Indian cuisine is served here: dosas, iddly, uttapam, vada and other delights that are popular all over the country. Also on the menu are burgers, pizzas (and even "pizza-dosas"), and drinks such as mango lassi and café frappé... Tasty and inexpensive. Several outlets in Kolkata.

In a quiet street in the trendy Hauz Khas district, this sandwich shop is a credit to the place. You can enjoy big grilled sandwiches or fresh bread with crunchy vegetables and steaming meats. We are closer to the American concept than to the ham and butter, which probably explains the rather high prices. The room is small and decorated with very contemporary paintings. The service, pressed by the crowd, is often overwhelmed. You can also enjoy delicious coffees and espressos prepared by the trendy Blue Tokai Coffee Roaster.
