CINEMA ARVOR

Cinema
4.5/5
6 reviews

The Arvor cinema has been given a makeover in early 2021 by moving into one of the three Identity towers located directly next to the train station. It now has 5 rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 340 spectators. While keeping its Art et Essai programming line, this new Arvor will be able to offer more films and therefore expose (and enhance) the diversity of independent cinema. It is also easier to organize events and special evenings: debates, meetings, previews, thematic programs... as well as the now famous Sunday Night Film (once or twice a month), which is an opportunity to see or re-see on the big screen a lovingly selected cult film. The reception, with its decoration made of visible raw materials (wood, concrete columns...) also has a coffee area to wait pleasantly before a film or to debrief passionately with friends at the end of a session.

CELTIC

Cinema
3.8/5
25 reviews

Celtic is an institution that has stood the test of time. Built in 1933, rebuilt after the war, a period in which it retains its concrete façade and sign as a reminder of its history, it is modernising with each technological evolution to make it the oldest and most modern cinema in Brest today.

It has eight rooms, all comfortable, equipped with the latest technologies, including four adapted to accommodate the hearing impaired. And a major innovation, the recent works have made it possible to create an Ice Premium cinema, where the seats move and vibrate in harmony with the projected 3D film, for an even more complete immersion. Thrills guaranteed.

This downtown cinema also offers documentary and conference screenings, to make it a place of exchange and knowledge. And a little more magical, the broadcasting of one opera a month in the Ice Premium room, to take you on an exceptional lyrical ascent. Are you coming?

The cinema Les Studios is located in the city centre (tram stop). This art and essay cinema broadcasts all foreign films in VO, offers screenings and organizes various film festivals. For the greatest happiness, he has six screens. " All digital ", it is one of the most active places of culture in local and associative life. Sébastien Le Goffe and Bertille Martins join several associations a year to promote a foreign language and organise, for example, the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival in Brest. Europa Cinemas Certified since 2004, the film Les Studios has been awarded directors time and time and time and time again. Finally, it regularly welcomes the young public: It's in front of her projectors that school students, from kindergarten to high school, come to see movies adapted to their program, with their teachers. The reception is always warm and reasonable. In short, a place of culture as we would like to see more.

LA BOBINE

Cinema

In 1998 the association La Bobine was created and allows the renovation of the «Grillon» room. The cinema then finds a beautiful place in Bréal-sous-Monfort. It is now 80 filmmaking volunteers who continue to live this art. Every year, more than 200 films are broadcast and they belong to all genres: general public films, art and essay films, documentaries, newsworks, festivals. It is true that everyone admires it with its programming for all audiences but of quality. It is true that this cinema gives the idea of what a cinema could be in a small town once rural with an essential word: conviviality. Here, you can still make a film in the home under the aegis of Jean-Luc Godard or François Truffaut. Exchanges between neighbors or between generations are warm and give the desire to return to the cinema! The Bobine offers a varied program. In this cinema, public movies, art and essays, documentaries followed by stakeholders, festivals, theme evenings, high school sessions in the cinema… This is done in very good conditions with a digital sound. A big boost to the volunteer team that animates this cinema with determination and magic! Do a survey of the accents, they keep their room, and would not swim in the popcorn in a multiplex where the place is twice as expensive! A real little paradise!
