Tilt, a little nugget at the bottom of Siam opened in 2014, is Brest's first associative boutique. Some fifteen local Finistère artisan-creators see their pieces put up for sale in this space, and you'll be able to find a variety of pieces, but always handmade and in limited series. Items range from home decor to textiles (adult, baby and nursery clothing), jewelry and leather goods, not forgetting cosmetics (soaps, body products) and artistic objects such as ceramics and illustrations. In 1938 Bonneteries d'Armor was created and later on became very successful since the end of the 50s with the famous navy sweater and striped jersey Today the company produces and markets 4 different brands: " Armor-Lux" for all marine clothes and undergarments, "Terre et Meré" dedicated to women rather " branchées", " Bermudas" for garments inspired by water sports and " Armor kids" for children. With values (quality, innovation and ethics), the brand has won many hearts. And, in 2005 the Max Havelaar cotton center was created to implant sustainable development. This independent marine counter, installed since 1972 in an old tide mill, exudes an atmosphere that is both beautifully old-fashioned and timeless. Its three floors look like an Ali Baba's cave where lines, rods, reels, lockers and lures of all kinds are spread out before your eyes. You'll also find something to face the open sea in style: sailors' shoes, peaches, hats, docksides, boots and other oilskins. And if your boat needs a face-lift, you'll find antifouling paint and deck fittings. The salesmen are a good source of advice.
