The smoked meat is served in lean, semi-lean or not lean at all. Such an institution in Montreal that a musical comedy dedicated to its history was even created. For the record, Celine Dion and her late husband René Angélil are part of the conglomerate that bought the restaurant in 2012.

At the corner of Rachel and Saint-Laurent, this French fry shop is iconic in Montreal. Its low prices and comfort food are sure to please. The owners of the premises attach great importance to the quality of the products offered, but also to the decoration of their small restaurant. The style of the old place of worship is well preserved, thanks in particular to the magnificent restored stained glass windows hung from the ceiling.

Red Fish Blue Fish is one of Victoria's best fish & chip spots. This food truck is located on the docks of Victoria Harbour and you take your sandwich to eat at the outdoor tables facing the marina. All of the fish used for the sandwiches is caught according to sustainable fishing principles. Locals and tourists alike love this place, which is why there is often a long line in front of it. Be patient, it is worth the detour!

Facing Lake Ontario, in the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning, is this friendly little café. The kitchen team sources local farms and producers for a simple but tasty menu. The place mainly prepares gourmet sandwiches, as well as homemade soups and salads. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available, as well as coffees from Canadian roasters and sweet treats (pastries, muffins, cookies, etc.).

Coffee is delicious, burgers and salads are original. We recommend you the hamburger sauce sauce and the delicious Greek salad. The selection of beer is interesting. In Stooley's we appreciate the diversified menu and small prices.

Located just a few steps from the sea, flanked by its large sailboat and maritime decor, the Cantine des Navigateurs offers a tasty on-the-go menu: homemade fish & chips or cod croquettes, lobster club sandwiches, shrimp guédilles, bouillabaisse, not to mention typical snack dishes (burgers, hot dogs, poutine, smoked meat, fries...). All you have to do is accompany it with a good Gaspesian beer. Takeaway meals are also available, as is an outdoor terrace.

Reopened in a new space in the heart of Kensington Market, Crumbs is a small counter that specializes in one thing: the famous Jamaican patties. While you can opt for the standard Caribbean version, they make gourmet patties here. The most popular? Without a doubt, the Remixed with beef or chicken curry and melted cheddar cheese. There are other delicious versions on the menu and veggie or breakfast options are also available. Perfect for a quick bite to eat!

An Italian gourmet grocery store founded by the Nicastro brothers in 1972, today's Bottega has set up shop in the ByWard Market and has been going full steam ahead ever since. They offer a wide range of high quality products, both imported and homemade. For a quick bite to eat, the shop offers several dishes to eat on site (soups, salads, pasta, pizzas, hot sandwiches), accompanied by a glass of wine or an Italian beer. Take-out sandwiches are also available and are prepared according to your tastes, from bread to toppings.

Cathcart Restaurants and Biergarten opened in early 2020 as part of the Esplanade Place Ville Marie revitalisation project. The 12 food counters (a real culinary world tour) and the 2 restaurants (a brasserie and a Japanese canteen) are set up around an elegant green and luminous square, under an imposing glass roof, where everyone can settle down with their glass or their plate (both are even better!).
