Known and recognized for the unique taste of its smoked meat, a pastrami specially prepared in the traditional way with a blend of spices and herbs, Schwartz's has been bringing the atmosphere of The Main to its customers since 1928, with its long line. The smoked meat is served in lean, semi-lean or not lean at all. Such an institution in Montreal that a musical comedy dedicated to its history was even created. For the record, Celine Dion and her late husband René Angélil are part of the conglomerate that bought the restaurant in 2012.

Nous y sommes allés à 6. Les grandes tables sont parfaites! Les serveurs travaillent là depuis des décennies et agrémentent les explications d'anecdotes. Le temps d'attente en vaut la peine, le smoked meat n'est pas un plat élaboré, mais c'est un incontournable au même titre que la poutine.

Un endroit mythique à Montréal. J'adore.
Mais il est vrai qu'il faut parfois attendre en file.
C'est la rançon de la gloire.
Ce n'est pas de la grande cuisine
mais l'ambiance en fait un endroit à visiter.
