It offers dishes based on crocodile, kangaroo, shellfish and fish flavored with Australian spices. The dishes are hearty and the cuisine high quality. 229 On Main Café occupies the main room of the Old Capitol Theatre. We come here especially to discover the kitschy, old-fashioned decor, with a very pleasant atmosphere. A few tables, chairs and sofas are set amidst the old auditorium and impressive bric-a-brac. Meals are classic: hamburgers, fish & chips, sandwiches, wraps, cooked eggs... Excellent value for money. Musical entertainment is often provided by local artists.

Little Creatures is one of the country's best-known beer brands. So it's in Fremantle that it was conceived. They've converted part of the brewery, located on the seafront in a not-to-be-missed area, with its fish & chips and little sunken beach, next to the Shipwrecks Museum. In the midst of huge, gleaming beer vats, you can sample one of the house beverages (Little Creatures, but also Rogers) or enjoy lunch overlooking the ocean. And, of course, you can buy beer before you leave.
