TAZA NATIONAL PARK
Read moreEstablished in 1923, the Taza park, with an area of 300 hectares, is one of the oldest protected areas in Algeria. In beautiful landscapes, between rocky shores, sandy beaches and wetlands - which we find from the point of view close to the lake of restraint reached by the small secondary road climbing between El Aouana and Ziama Mansouriah - there are considerable biological riches whose inventory is not completed. Mammals - the monkey monkey, a monkey, probably the most remarkable - are birds - the rare sitelle sitelle protected - reptiles and insects are fighting the terrain of zéens oaks, cork oaks and cedars.
PRAGUE GARDEN (EX-MARENGO)
Read moreThis sloping garden was set up by Colonel Marengo's military prisoners in 1833 on the location of a Muslim cemetery covering the remains of a Roman necropolis. A wide path crosses the park and winds through lush vegetation. The Queen's tomb was built in 1848 in memory of Queen Amélie, wife of Louis-Philippe I. This garden, which runs along the Emir Abdelkader lyceum (ex-Bugeaud), is rather poorly attended today.
