TimetablePubs generally open in the late morning (or afternoon for some) and stay open until 1am. Most small discos close at 3 or 4am, while some stay open until dawn.
Budget & TipsGoing out in Slovakia doesn't cost much. Some discotheques, especially in Bratislava, which host international DJs, raise their prices, sometimes very artificially, but without becoming more expensive than in France, far from it. If you stick to beer, you'll get by for a few euros and have an excellent evening, but the bill will quickly rise if you go for cocktails or champagne.
To be bookedFor cultural outings, theatre, ballet or opera, it is highly recommended to book your seats in advance.
Night transportCabs are cheap! Cabs are cheap, and you don't have to pay the fare. A taxi ride in the city costs between €2.50 and €5. Fares are more expensive in Bratislava and there are also more scams, so be careful. Ordering a cab by phone is often cheaper. It's very local to take a cab home from a party - it's a normal reflex here.
Age restrictionsIn Bratislava and the rest of the country, the legal drinking and clubbing age is 18.
SmokersIn Bratislava and throughout the country, smoking is banned in clubs, discos and entertainment venues.
