The most beautiful natural sites to discover Thailand

The Ton Sai falls are to be seen during the monsoon season (May to October). The same is true for Bang Pae. It is near these that the famous gibbon rehabilitation centre is located.

This national park is recommended for lovers of wilderness. The summit of Khao Luang is at an altitude of 1,200 metres and the 4 km path leading to it is reserved for experienced athletes. For those who just want to enjoy the forest, the spectacular Sai Rung Falls, spread over 4 levels, offer the opportunity to swim. You have to walk almost a kilometre to reach them. Provide food, water and equipment before going to the site

The film The Man with the Golden Gun put this tiny island on the map of international tourism and gave it its name, now almost official. Its peculiarity lies in a karstic piton that seems to defy gravity, facing a tiny beach. It's a compulsory stop on all circuits and, in high season, it's a rush to take a selfie in front of the rock. There are a few small shops on site selling souvenirs, cold drinks and snacks

Not far from the Thai Elephant Conservation Center, a privileged spot for nature observation (birds, deer). It is possible to camp on site, even to make mountain biking tours.

Camping and even rafting on the Wa River, depending on the season (water level).

Surrounded by wooded hills, it stretches over 40 km in length. It is possible to bathe as many Thai people do. The place is much less frequented in the week.

On the road back to Ubon, you can go to the rapids and even bathe in the favorable season (out of drought). Only one bemol but one size: plastic bags and other detritus that hang the banks.

A small islet located just a few kilometres south of Bang Saphan Yai 20 minutes by boat. Its pristine white sandy beach is worth the trip, for a day of bathing or snorkeling.

This small national park is located in the Tanao Sri Mountains on the border with Myanmar. The main attraction of this national park are the magnificent Huai Yang waterfalls which spread over a hundred meters wide. It's worth a look. In addition, a large reservoir offers a natural swimming pool where you can swim. Go carefully, the water is really colder than elsewhere. There is a small restaurant at the entrance of the park.

It's the most popular attraction in Hat Yai. The waterfalls of the "elephant tusks", located about 20 km west of the city, are spread over seven levels and are really impressive. It's a great place for a picnic and you can even swim in some natural pools, some of which are deeper than others. The summit can be reached by a steep path, but be careful, the path is tortuous and sloping! Don't forget to bring good shoes, your bathing suit and a towel.

Limestone hill around 4 km from Umphang. The place is very popular for those who want to meditate in front of a sea of fog overlooking the surroundings. Particularly visible in the morning. Strange phenomenon: there is no tree on this hill.

Next to the royal villa a beautiful garden with a wide variety of flowers. For lovers of beautiful colours and nature.

National Park since 1975 with beautiful waterfalls (highest: Chamao) and about caves. Possibility to go on a two day excursion in the jungle to try to observe wild elephants and many other animals at large, including the famous Tor carpe carpe. Local folklore indicates that the strange name of the mountain - chamao means "being drunk" - comes from the captivating sensation of the consumption of this carp!

This natural park aims to preserve the fauna and flora of this part of the province. A wide variety of animals, particularly birds, can be seen. The main attraction of the park is Wat Phanom Silaram built in 1979. It is a sacred place and many pilgrims regularly come here to pray. Magnificent view on the surroundings but some 600 steps to climb! At the top of a hill called Khao Sawai, the only one that dominates the flat landscape of the surrounding rice fields, stands a huge white Buddha.

This maritime park established in 1981 is located in the districts of Sikao and Kantang. It has 20 km of coastline, where the beaches of Pak Meng, Chang Lang, San, Yao, Yong Ling, and Chao Ma, accessible by road, are located. The latter is also home to a cave that is well worth the detour. The islands of Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, Koh Chueak, Koh Pling, Koh Waen, Koh Meng, and Koh Chao Ma also depend on this national park. It is possible to see dugongs!
