OAK LONG BAR
Read moreA chic bar in the no less chic and luxurious Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. A great choice of cocktails and wines to enjoy in this place voted best bar in the city by Boston Common Magazine in 2022. The Oak Bar (whose decor is reminiscent of English officers' clubs in the Orient) is undoubtedly one of the most elegant bars in the city, but it is also an excellent restaurant. One can easily come to dine there while sipping some delicious cocktails perfectly made. The service is neat, and the subdued atmosphere very pleasant.
SONSIE
Read moreThe place is mostly known for its restaurant, its efficient service and its Sunday brunches, but don't forget the bar, often crowded, very nice to just have a drink or wait for a table. You can take advantage of many promotions, like the oysters at half price on Monday afternoons when you sit at the bar, or the beer and pizza combo for the modest sum of 12 US$. The offers change regularly but they are written on the mirror behind the bar. The atmosphere is elegant and bourgeois, very Back Bay.
LE PROVIDENCE
Read moreIn the heart of Midtown, Providence since 2004 replaces the Bar Bat, which was one of the favourite caves of the New Yorkers. This property is full of history. In 1930 a church was established here, then, 40 years later, the legendary Media Sound Studios with a recording studio of it where Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, The Stones and other John Lennon avenue in acoustics. The place is very warm, comfortable armchairs, small glass tables, candles, floor, one has the feeling of being in a large loft away from the world. One of our favourites, for its atmosphere and its history.
O’BRIEN’S IRISH PUB & OAR HOUSE

N°1 BOBA TEA
Read moreOriginating in Taiwan in the 1980s, bubble tea - or boba tea - has been gaining in popularity in the Western world since the 2010s. In concrete terms, it's tea with tapioca pearls, made from a starch extracted from the cassava root. The result is a particularly sweet and colorful drink, where these gelatinous beads mingle with the liquid in a rather surprising way; in short, a very Instagrammable beverage. N°1 Boba Tea stands out among the establishments that have made it their specialty.

MOLLY’S PUB

The longer the time passes, the more difficult it is to hold a conversation, either on the bottom or on the floor. Plasma screens placed everywhere allow to follow a basketball, football or baseball match. Molly's loves sport. Charming staff and often aware of everything that happens on the night of Houston. A good start to the evening before pushing further. Possibility to order "burgers".

As its name indicates, this trendy bar is first and foremost the preferred place of all those who want to grow the ditty a little further than in their bathroom. Thousands of songs are included in the karaoke repertoire.
CAFE ADAGIO
Read moreThe place has nothing to do with Italy, except perhaps some of the transalpine wines proposed on the map. Café Adagio is more and more part of this new scene in the centre of Houston on which artists play live on a daily basis. In the program, the jazz and blues dominate, even if other genres are heard from time to time. Those who would like to avoid paying the entrance price can still come earlier for dinner. With its old red neon signs, Elvis posters, vintage signs, 1960s music and crazy decor, the Trailer Park Lounge takes us to another place and time. The margarita flows freely (if there are at least four of you and you're in good shape, order a pitcher), the burgers are not divine but they do the trick. For a sunny late afternoon.

OVERSTORY
Read moreThis is the Financial District's hip new cocktail bar, set on the top floor of an Art Deco tower that also houses a gourmet restaurant (Saga). What we like: the surprising 360-degree view from the terrace, and the bar's intimate atmosphere. What we don't like: the price of cocktails and the hefty bill that follows. Reservations are possible, but only if you spend a minimum of US$50 per person. We therefore recommend going without a reservation, preferably at opening time. A great experience.

Read moreLocated on Eat Street, this Spyhouse Coffee is a warm place, with its wooden tables. Its decor revisits coffee-making through the ages. The place is popular with young, hip and affluent digital nomads. On weekends, families can be seen here, with customers taking a coffee to go while walking their dogs... In addition to a wide choice of coffees, you can also enjoy a home-made Chai tea. Of course, this coolness comes at a price, and you won't be eating here - not even for a hearty breakfast - but the break is pleasant and the muffins are tasty.
LUDLOW LIQUORS
Read moreThis old, untidy-looking street corner bar will deliver its cachet to whoever dares to push open its door. Take a seat in the diner-style banquettes or directly at the bar, where you'll gaze at some beautiful old bottles. The place is cosy and the cocktail bar lives up to its reputation in the neighborhood. Ludlow Liquors has a speakeasy feel to it, but the large, rootsy outdoor terrace and the tags in the bathroom sadly detract from the period postcard charm. Burgers are also available.

At the end of the evening, the atmosphere is even more relaxed, we sing along to old hits that everyone knows and we make new friends. No cocktail on the menu but the Sharknado Sangria pleases most people!

The Rooftop Lounge
Read moreAvocado toast, crab cake, shrimp ceviche, fried Brussels sprouts, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood pasta, desserts ranging from apple strudel to crème brûlée... Despite this extensive menu, it's not necessarily for the food that we recommend The Rooftop Lounge, but for the absolutely breathtaking view from its terrace. This makes it the ideal place to watch the sun go down, with a good cocktail in hand. As the place can quickly become overcrowded, try to book in advance.

Read moreEven if this establishment proudly announces that it does not provide Wifi, many regulars or digital nomads can be found working on its tables. It must be said that between its music at the ideal volume, its interesting selection of coffee, its friendly atmosphere and its cosy decoration, Coffee Garden is a place where you want to spend time. The plus: delicious desserts. It's located on 9th & 9th, an intersection that looks like Sunset Junction, in Los Angeles, where several charming lounges follow one another.
