The Malta Freeport, also known as Marsaxlokk Port, is a seaport located south of Marsaxlokk Bay, in the southeast of the island of Malta. It is a major free port dedicated to container transshipment. Thanks to its central position in the Mediterranean Sea, it acts as a maritime hub. It covers an area of 0.7 km2 and handled 2.54 million TEUs in 2012. Malta Freeport offers a range of services, including the Freeport Centre and the Freeport Terminal Building.
