The Salaris brothers take their trade from previous generations who, since time immemorial, have passed on the art of forging and cutlery to each other. Respectful of tradition, they make knives in a completely traditional way, from the forging of the steel blade to the handle made of ram's horn, deer horn, heather or ebony wood. They ensure that their knives are flawless in order to satisfy a particularly demanding clientele of connoisseurs. Some pieces are true works of art.

Vittorio Mura, now deceased, was a real institution in Santu Lussurgiu. He was one of those blacksmiths who raised cutlery to the rank of art. His "resolzas", knives with folding blades, are highly sought-after and are the subject of a market. Collectors and tourists continue to visit his workshop, taken over by his three sons. He has passed on to them his passion and talent for highly crafted knives. The most elaborate pieces require hours of work, such as those with damascened blades. The prices can then soar.
