Mountain and winter sports Slovenia

The local winter sports resort is in Stari Vrh (1,217 m). About fifteen kilometres west of the city, the resort has slopes between 600 m and 1,200 m in altitude, supplied with artificial snow by dedicated guns. Night skiing is practiced there. Length of trails: difficult trails 2 km, medium trails 6 km and easy trails 4 km. The second is in Soriska Planina, 35 km away. The third is in Rudno towards Zelezniki

Medium-sized ski resort, conveniently located just 8 km from Brnik international airport and 25 km from Ljubljana (the closest ski resort to the capital). A gondola links the ski area from the valley (otherwise there's an asphalt road in summer). 3 lifts, 1 single-seater chairlift, 1 6-seater chairlift and 5 2-seater chairlifts. Run heights range from 1,450 m to 1,971 m. Run lengths vary: difficult runs 6 km, moderately difficult runs 12.5 km and easy runs 5.5 km.

The Kope ski resort with an artificial snow cannon system allows about 100 skiing days a year on 8 km of slopes up to 1,542 m altitude. There is also night skiing. The ski area is not very extensive, struggling to exceed 10 km. The great advantage of the resort is its proximity to Slovenj Gradec which makes skiing easier - only about 15 kilometres. Leisure facilities are on the increase in the resort, as is the offer of accommodation and catering.
