Water sports and leisure activities Luxembourg

This leisure area, created on the ponds which were sandpits in the 1970s, covers 130 ha, including 25 ha of water. It consists of beaches, as well as playgrounds and picnic areas. Among the many activities on offer, there are water sports (paddle, rowing, canoeing, prohibited outside motorized ports), a diving school, a swimming pool and fishing (two lakes are dedicated to this activity). In summer, sports courses are organized.

The Yacht Club of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has its own fleet of boats which can be put at the disposal of its members (paying service). Regattas are organised every season on the lake of the Haute-Sûre. In collaboration with the Service National de la Jeunesse, the YCL also offers sailing courses for young people from 10 to 17 years old in the summer. During the year, adults can also follow training courses at certain weekends.

The recreation center in Weiswampach is located on two artificial lakes covering an area of 6 hectares and offers a wide range of activities: self-pedestrian and bicycle tours and fishing on the lower lake (from September to June). In summer, several water sports such as swimming and windsurfing can also be practiced on the lower lake. Pedal boats can be rented on site. In winter, cross-country skiing and sledding are available.

The water sports base offers an animation program for school groups and youth groups (12 years and older) in the following disciplines:sailing, kayaking, orienteering, cycling (all terrain) and climbing. The animation is guaranteed by one of the experienced instructors. The base is managed in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports. Accommodation can be provided at the Lultzhausen Youth Hostel, which is only a few dozen meters away.

This recreation center consists of a 25-meter long pool with a slide and a children's pool. The outdoor site, open from April to November, has a large pool surrounded by terraces and lawns to enjoy the summer temperatures. Need to relax? Steam bath, whirlpool and sauna are available at an additional cost. A fitness room is also available with the "Sport and relaxation" package. A brasserie on site offers small meals (salads, pizzas, hamburgers) and refreshments.

A tributary of the Moselle, the river Sûre generally follows a rather quiet course, except perhaps at the CNEV Al Schwemm! In particular, a canal has been built with 5 beautiful artificial waves and their difference in height around which the instructors design very diverse and always safe courses. The centre is aimed at experienced canoeists as well as children and beginners (2-seater kayak with instructor)

The town of Remich is home to an open-air swimming pool with a large pool with diving boards and a slide, as well as a small pool reserved for play activities for the little ones. The site is open from the end of spring and throughout the summer period weather permitting. Changing rooms are available on site. A kiosk offering snacks and drinks as well as a terrace are accessible. A must for all families as soon as the temperatures rise.

Inaugurated in 2014, this aquatic and wellness complex features an aquatic area with 9 pools, a fitness area with over 20 machines, and a wellness and balneotherapy area. The wellness area features saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and a relaxation room. Facial and body treatments are offered in the SoBeauty institute. There's also a bar-lounge offering fast food at low prices. Please note that the wellness area is not suitable for under-18s, and swimwear is not permitted.

The Motor Yacht Club of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was founded in 1964 in Remich. After the construction of the Schwebsange marina, the headquarters moved to the Moselle riverside. Today, the MYCL has about 200 members. It is the oldest school for navigational licences in the Grand Duchy. It offers nautical activities as well as training courses and preparation courses for obtaining permits.

Built in pink sandstone in the Belle Epoque, the central swimming pool in Luxembourg is a unique building with a historiciste style. This aquatic relaxation centre is an ideal alternative for rainy days during your stay. Small and large will be happy to relax in this pleasant setting with a large swimming pool with whirlpools and water jets, two sauna cabins, a Turkish bath, solarium and rest beaches. The Bonnevoie swimming pool includes a large 25-metre swimming pool with adjustable depth (between 1.80 m and 3.80 m) as well as a small learning pool with adjustable depth (between 0.65 m and 1.25 m). The site also houses a weight room, a sweat bath and a solarium. During the week, the small pool is sometimes used by students during their physical education classes. Swimming lessons are also given on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

It is not far from the centre, in the most rural part of Schlaifmillen, that the Canoe-Kayak Luxembourg (CKL) is hidden. The club offers the discipline in the form of leisure activities with hikes or in a more intensive form with training sessions. The descents take place on the gentle slopes of the Alzette, no difficulty on the horizon. The advantage is to see the town in a different light and, sometimes, to escape the summer heat waves.

Aqua Park Beaufort consists of a heated outdoor swimming pool with slide, water cannons, fountains, artificial river and whirlpool areas. A paddling pool, equipped with a shade veil, welcomes toddlers in complete safety. The pools are surrounded by a lawn where you can sit in the sun on the ground or on a deckchair available for rent. A snack bar is also on site to satisfy small appetites. A very popular place during the summer holidays as soon as the temperatures rise

Outdoor Freizeit offers canoeing and kayaking trips on the Sûre. Participants are responsible for the return trip to their starting point (Outdoor Freizeit will provide you with information about the route). If you are traveling with two families, for example, it is ideal to park one car at the starting point and one at the finishing point. Outdoor Freizeit can also bring your bikes to the arrival point. It is also possible to rent mountain bikes. Rafting is only available for groups of 6 or more when the water level is high enough.

The Krounebierg Aquatic Centre is a place of fun and relaxation for the whole family. It has a 25-metre-long swimming pool, a non-swimming pool equipped with gargoyles and air bubble injectors, and a baby pool with a turntable. There is also a giant slide, to the delight of the little ones. In the wellness area, there are saunas, hammam and whirlpools. Snacks are available in the bistro.

This 35-hectare artificial lake, surrounded by a large forest, will allow you to relax in a pleasant setting. Bike Park (near the Nature House - Naturhaous), fishing, sailing, a beautiful children's playground, a walking tour, an indoor climbing wall at the youth hostel, a trampoline park and a visit to the Roman villa are just some of the activities on offer. The lake can be reached on foot from the centre of Echternach in about 30 minutes.

Located downstream from Rosport, next to the village campground, this water reservoir offers water skiing, stand-up paddling, banana boating and kayaking. The site also includes jogging trails, a climbing wall and a beautiful playground with water jets. Rent-a-Bike bikes can be rented on site. The banks of the Sûre are also well suited for fishing, although a permit is required. Along the river there are also many bicycle paths in addition to the mountain bike routes in the area.

Renovated between 2019 and 2022, the open-air pool in Dudelange is once again accessible in its most beautiful light! Its water pipes have been replaced, the floor and the terrace modified, while new changing rooms and cash desks have been built. The complex consists of two pools (swimming and non-swimming), as well as a paddling pool for the youngest. The site is surrounded by vegetation and, on the initiative of the Cancer Foundation, houses a sun cream dispenser.
