Its programming is varied and of high quality, with an emphasis on recent art house films from around the world. Although the films screened may therefore be reserved for an informed public, with a preference for auteur cinema, the establishment also offers must-see new releases and French comedies.

Read moreThe Ancien Cinéma Café Club has moved into the premises of the Vianden cinema, which had been abandoned for a long time. The 200-year-old building, full of character, now houses painting exhibitions, films, concerts, a music club, a shop and a café with small catering facilities. The old limestone walls have been renovated, the original cinema seats have been preserved, and the building is decorated with comfortable sofas, vintage chairs and elegant tables from the 1960s. A corner has even been specially designed for children.

Both cinemas are housed in the premises of the National Audiovisual Centre. In addition to releases of current films, the NAC also organizes themed screenings, previews, meetings with filmmakers and evenings around the national heritage, as well as traditional ciné-goûters for younger audiences.
UTOPIA
Read moreThe cinema Utopia has five projection rooms and has a total capacity of 720 places. This is not a real cinema of art and testing, but it looks like it. Programming is less commercial than in other theatres in the city, with a little older and perhaps more knowledgeable audience. The nearby Glacis parking garage avoids parking problems.
CINÉMATHÈQUE DE LA VILLE DE LUXEMBOURG

Most of the works shown come from the archives at the Cloche d'Or. The cinémathèque also organizes or participates in numerous events throughout the year. These include free open-air film screenings at several locations in Luxembourg's capital during the summer.
CINÉ SCALA
Read moreTaking place on the site of the former wood industry, the Ciné Scala is managed by the City of Diekirch. It consists of 5 cinemas with a total capacity of 473 visitors in their colourful armchairs. Most of the latest releases are shown in French, German and VO with subtitles. The establishment also offers special screenings of auteur films and documentaries, sometimes in the presence of the director. Located a stone's throw from the train station and with a large car park, the site is very easy to access.
